Thread: What did you do on your Landy today?

Wired up my inverter and 8 way fuse box inside my toolbox on the back off my 110. Now have power to run items from 2nd battery that are on a new fuse box. Put a LED rope light inside the toolbox on a switch, the light out put is really good, it will help out when camping as the light is on the door so when I open it it sends light outwards away from the box as well as inside. Really happy with today's work.

Welded a tiny crack on the rear diff of the 110

Not much...

Gave the D2 TD5 an oil change, replaced oil and air filters. Put in new fuel filter.
Greased up the drive shaft and replaced front brake pads.

Then the D1 got pretty much the same treatment minus the brakes but did the diff, gearbox and transfer case oil.

Then took about 15 kg's of the D1's underbelly by removing the front sway bar. The rear has been off for a while.
Will check the difference in flexibility tomorrow but the front sits close to 10mm higher now

Using 'Fred' the D1 and our car trailer, I arrived up at Steve's place to collect another Landy, "That's gotta go! " he said, as a clean up of their yard was in progress and this Landy didn't fit in the scheme of things.
Steve and his mate Sam are two strong young fellows that are in their prime, so it wasn't long that 'Steve the Station Wagon' was on the car trailer. ( I name my Landy collection after the previous owner to keep track of them ) After it was fastened down with a chain and twitch, home I went, thinking now where am I going to hide this one? ( considerations of SWMBO etc )

Did I mention that it took three of us to load this none running Landy? Now by myself I needed to get the thing off, so I sized up a likely flat spot down by the river and deciding that possy would do. I drove down the bank, ( a steep wet grassy slope ) in 'Fred' and with 'Steve' the SW in tow on the car trailer, once in place, I unhooked the tie down chain and stood back to see how I was going to get the SW front wheels over the wheel chocks that are fastened on the trailers deck. ( Remember it took three of us to get this Landy onto the trailer and over the wheel chocks? )

So, I tied the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, adjusted the ramps on the back of the trailer to the best spot possible to run the wheels down and jumped back into 'Fred'.
A rocking motion was called for, this was to get the front wheels of 'Steve' over the trailers wheel chocks, so I jerked the load forwards, touched the brakes, the Landy first rocked back then moved towards me and I then accelerated quickly, ------ Ladies and Gentlemen !!! ------ 'Steve the Station wagon' then rolled back with the trailer moving forward, over the wheel chocks down the ramps, stopping a couple of yards behind the trailer and a crime was committed, another Landy resides in the yard at Wrinklearthur's place.

She spotted it already , not two hours after I dropped it off!!!!!

All's good, I told her some of the other Landies can go down there as well, so a 'A' frame is going to be the next item to be constructed in the workshop and I will tow a couple of AlexH's collection down to join 'Steve the Stationwagon'.

Finished installing my water tank today so it's all fully operational...
Front Runner tank located in the rear quarter panel, pump and filter. The tap on the back is same colour all over (no blue/red) to match the car and be less obvious. Took me ages to find the right colour, style and thread. The switch for the pump (chrome) also located on back with master cutoff switch for all accessories inside the cabin.

Spent the day pulling soaked carpet and underlay out of the disco and finding out the water leak was from the fresh air intake. Then found the lift pump on the ute ****ing oil out its not been a good couple of weeks
