Hi MT

You might be right Andrew, however I am with Doug on this. I think the last thing LRA would want is a bunch of articulate customers attracting attention in the media when they are trying to flog off their new products. Would not be a good look, The people who are buying the new product would surely still care about after market customer service and company ethics.Originally Posted by LandyAndy
Reckon I could work up a good Info operations campaign that , given a wee bit of help from folks here, would give them serious heartburn. Would be decent about it - would tell them first, give them a chance to address the wrong.
Opinions?
Cheers

OK, sounds like a challenge to get them to take note! I am up for it. Would request that anyone who has had this problem email me (will set up details on my profile). Suggest you send (as start):Originally Posted by LandyAndy

2. Veh type (model , age)
3. Brief (emphasis on brief at this stage) Details of history of the problem with your vehicle.
Meanwhile, I will work up a plan and post it here for comment. If, as Andrew says, they monitor our site, this might actually work in our favour.
I am deadly serious, if , like me, you are sick of this stuff around, please respond.
Cheers,
Mark

After cleaning out the loom (with metho?) or whatever it was, can we pump in some sort of glue/silicon/sikkaflex to fill the spaces in the loom thus preventing the oil moving through?
Does anyone know how oil reacts with any of these products?
PS what was the coke-bottle method?
??

Mark,
The problem doesn't concern me directly (I have a petrol), but you are dead right, every owner with this problem needs to do something now! Contacting you is a good place to start. I applaud your initiative! Land Rover will ignore you collectively at their peril. As a vociferous group you have every chance of success; as individuals no hope. Might I suggest that you write to the magazines such as LRO, LRE etc. explaining your campaign if Land Rover doesn't come to the party.

If we are going to approach LR as a group, should we also address the problem concerning the oil pump bolt, as this seems to be another bug with the TD5 motor

Mileage at problem 80077 km - both injector loom and wiring harness replaced
Purchased vehicle at 32000 k's and 1st time problem has occurred

I had in mind to go around Oz but with centralisation and cost of parts and I would not be confident to go remote. LR service is scarce outside major capitals.
Let me know what else I can do to get involved
cheers bob
