    Disco / 6.2 diesel

Well this is a bit light on for technical info but I came across it on a diesel site. The fella says it still runs the ZF auto and stock running gear (225/75 tyres) and upgraded front springs. No A/C and claims to return 28MPG... He notes the aircleaner is from a Merc but doesn't state the model. If anything it would sound nice....

I would love some more info If you ever find some

I'd like to know what engine it is and how the conversion was done.

Yep. Had a look back and found the thread.

6.2 power into a Land Rover Discovery - TheDieselPage.com Forums

There's more diesel conversions on 4btswaps.com which mainly covers Cummins swaps but there is a very useful link to Isuzu 4bd1 and other engines.

The engine is a GMC 6.2L as used in early versions of the US military Hummer - later (armoured) versions had the 6.5L turbo and Duramax version. Brunswick Diesel and another mob in Queensland convert what you like to this engine. A drive in/out quote was about $20k last I heard....but there are a number of kit manufacturers if you're a bit handy.

    Hope this helps.

There's a lot of woeful stories about these lumps but there's also a shirt-load of them doing good things in deserts too...

    Here's another for interests sake.

    Range Rover Clydesdale

If you 'click' on the Specification sub-title there's a bit of an explanation and some photos.

    6.5 litre diesel

There is a GU Nissan Patrol at work that has a 6.5 litre diesel fitted to it, been meaning to try and find out who owns and drives it, being a construction site down in WA South West, he is probably one of the Qld crew who has come over to do some electrical installation work.

Also found in the car park at site a Falcon Ute 4wd which is almost in pristine condition, one of the 500 built by Ford as an experiment and never continued with

Not much of a torque monster either for that capacity. My 4BD1 turboed and I/cooled puts out about that at 2000rpm. Even more if I wind up the fuel

Apparently 450Nm+ is possible with the 3.9 if boosted and fuelled enough.

Might have a play on the TAFE college dyno one day with a 10mm spanner and a screwdriver...

Better economy than his 2.5, well mine must really be out of tune as its about 16l/100 as apposed to our 300td1 of around 10l/100.
Oh and stick a turbo on and turn the fuel up a bit, i reckon around 600Nm + at 2000 sounds good
We must get onto it one day Cloughy(with a fewto help)
