    TD5 Fan Belt

    Just wanting to know if the Fan Belt can be replaced on my D2 TD5 without removing the Viscus Fan as the "Rave" seems to indicate. (I dont have ACE )
    Also where can the tools be bought to remove the fan ?
    Ive got a bunch of maintenance jobs to do (replace all hoses, belts and fuel block ) and don't want to be delayed by something simple.

    no special tools required and it can be replaced without removing the viscous fan by threading the belt around the blades and between the shroud.

    from memory you need a 15mm spanner to torque the tensioner up out of the way to loosen the belt.

    I gave a blow bly blow of removing the tensioner and idler as part of my 100K service post up

    As the others have said, but a damed site easier with the fan removed. I'm just waiting for mine to cool down now so I can replace the tensioner pulley.

    Check your belt length also. I got caught out by that one. Had to wait for the correct length to be ordered in.

    After you have done it a few times, because you have the wrong length belt (even though correct length printed on belt) it gets to be quite easy.
