    Justin,MR did mine,and i was concerned as it was aftermarket,but they said have had no trouble with them I would have preferred a gen one........your thoughts......ilike that BD chip,pulls real well up those hills,&much quicker off the mark.

    Now the wife willwear the brakes out quicker

    I recon the dust wrecks those MAF as we know the air box & filter set up isnt real good in the disco TD5 but thats another storie.....

    Hi Paul,

    I haven't heard of any problems at all with the aftermarket ones, and I suspect they are from a similar source, but I just have this thing about genuine parts
    That chip is fantastic in the later model auto Td5's, I reckon a chipped auto '03 onwards would be my pick if I was to buy a D2.
    Don't worry, "brakes are cheap, lets race"

    HELP RESIDENT GENIUSES!

    Ok, after reading this thread I decided to do some MAF testing this morning.

    I got the nanocom plugged in. Took the car out to warm it up and checked the readings.

    Idle = 48.
    constant 60k (flat) = 100
    Idle 70 downhill = 150
    Full throttle going past 3k = 560

    I then cleaned the MAF carefully with a cotton bud and some prepsol. I got a little red dirt off it.

    Idle = 52.
    constant 60k (flat) = 200
    Idle 70 downhill = 200+
    Full throttle going past 3k = 500+

    Keep in mid the full power readings might not be quite accurate as you really have to watch the road!

    Anyway, it was a bit hard to say if it was any better, but maybe I was using a little less throttle. Clearly it's reading nearly twice as much air now at cruise.

    What does this mean?

    Another question... does the td5 have a throttle butterfly at all?

    I took it out for a run this afternoon, and it drives noticeably better. Particularly low down where it is more torquey. It would appear that it is blowing much less smoke too... so it appears happier.
