I have found an early 90's 4BD1T that is in need of a rebuild for $800. I havent see it but a good price by any means. Once it is delivered i will post pics and let you know what ive signed up for.
I have done full rebuild on 4BD1 before so the thought of rebuild excites me if anything. Full engine balance and maybe some ARP head studs for lots of boost!
Not 100% sure on turbo yet. 110 has a to3 on it but not quite enough fuel to use to full potential, boosts up reasonably quick and around 26psi at full noise but not quite enough psi in mid range.

ive been looking for a 4bd1t engine for years and the closest i have came to a reasonable find was $2000 for one with an unknown injection pump condition all the rest were around the $5000 mark and once i said i wanted one such as the one you have came across (in need of a rebuild) no one will even want to talk to me so very good find indeed !!

Front axle housing mods, umm, strengthened diff pan and also going to run outboard shocks for a number of reasons. Still need to get some weld on maxi-drive actuator mountings blocks before i do gusseting along the top and that will be it until i get onto rear one.

    TO3

Dont you find the TO3 a bit on the big side. I would have thought it would not get max boost untill quite late???

Does it have the 4" inlet

It is a little on the big side. With this t03 the waste gate is part of the dump pipe which i didnt fit it so max boost is what ever fuel i can get into it(fuel screw removed. in 4th gear at full noise doing 140kph (on a race track) i can get 28 psi and no i dont have a tacho. Max egts are around 700*c on long hill climb. once i get this factory turbo engine for rangie i think i will try the t03 and see what happens.
