Jc, sorry i didn't call in today, i wanted to show it to you, but keen to get back to camp.
Workingonit,
The wobble in the unsupported end of the adapter shaft on the end of the ZF to LT230 allows for any slight misalignment in the axis of the ZF output shaft and that of the LT230. Although in the case of the LR use of the ZF with LT230 I suspect the primary reason for the use of the spud shaft is to make up for the difference in length of the gearbox output shaft((R380 vs ZF). The tolerance in the splines also allow for the misalignment as things can move with respect to each other e.g., the splines can slide as opposed to a a different coupling such as a bolted or taper (e.g., morse taper) joint.

Yep, and as soon as its home, its all apart again😆
Btw, although a pain to deal with, when i get home, i'm going to pay jacmac a visit! Wish me luck😅
You saying you don't have lockers? Considered Ashcroft? Old Jamac vs Maxi debate...
JacMac vs Maxi
I feel this thread is going round in circles .Search (LT230 perspective) Then tell me why the large imput shaft spline is going to wear more than the spline of the much smaller output splineWhy the shaft is going to break if properly aligned and heat treated And don't give me any of Bee uteys crap of breaking the Isuzu shaft or not using first gear

I have found them fine to deal with. Maybe because I knew what I wanted and was just asking how much and how to purchase/pay.
I think they get annoyed with all the nuffies who don't know one end of a spanner from the other, want to chat for half an hour about landies and might buy something in 6 months.![]()
