I will start it out similar to what Stuee suggested in an earlier post. My thoughts are - to keep it just to the info required - is that there be minimal posts in the new thread, and all the information and links in just a few posts so we don't get back into a situation that you can't find anything you are looking for.

To this end I was thinking that as things are needed to be added, amended, a new idea or though for that thread that it is posted as a reply, and I'll update, add etc this detail to the main posts and then move here or delete that reply. That or you can PM stuff and I can just update it from there.

Does this sound like a workable start? Remembering that it won't be my thread, but an accumulation of all our ideas and thoughts.

I just don't want it to get so big and messy that we loose what we were looking for in the start. If it becomes a free for all and we end up with 100 posts, we will again be looking for a way to rationalise things.

I'll make a start on it and we can make it up as we go along.

Just to add a quick note that if you hadn't noticed that I am now a Mod for this and a couple of other forums here, so sing out if you need a hand with anything - I am here to help.

    Cheers - Gav.
    Hi Gav,

Congrats on you elevation to Modship! IIRC if you start the thread you can continue to edit your initial post beyond the normal editing period for general posts.
That way you should be able to update any of those sticky threads as you come across more info or links, etc.

You are right about threads becoming unmanageable, drifting or going completely off-topic so a reference area would be great if it could not get "polluted" - no offence meant.

Just a quick update to let everyone know I haven't forgotten about the 101 101 thread. There have been some discussions with the other Mods for this forum on the best way to manage that thread/idea.

Will let you know what is going on next week. Sorry for the delays in this.

    Cheers - Gav.

Since this is a bit of a general chit chat section now does anyone mind PM'ing me (or posting up) the price they paid for the Detroits (including delivery) from GBR? I see a few have recently purchased them when I was on the 101 forum.

Very close to buying one if I can get the brake bits reconditioned at the right price.

You had better get in quick - I have it on good authority that detroits for the 101 are no longer being made and GBR only have a few left.

You're not wrong. It's certainly down into single figures.

You guys should be salesman. As soon as I read that last night I emailed Bill. Waiting now for billing details and will have a Detroit on the way. May as well hold off on the rear hubs until it arrives now.

Also seeing if AJ has any ARB side gears. I sent that email before so I may end up spending my tax return rather quickly

Very happy with Bill's service Stuee. I understood the ARB side gears were all gone. Would you shoot me a PM if AJ has more , I'd be interested. Like wise if we need to get a few interested and have some made up I would like to pop an ARB up front.

It always surprises me how many of us are thinking along the same lines!! Have the Detroit on the shelf, have an ARB coming in in the back of a 110, and had asked AJ about half gears to replace the smaller ones... Heard nothing yet but would be defiantly interested if there is a batch being done up! Would prefer a Truetrac but I believe there is not one to suit the 101 axle..... Talking of batches... There is still a stack of Rocky Mountain Door Tops available in the UK if anyone is interested.... Bout to have a few sets sent over.. The fella over there said that a certain club expressed interest in 'said' door tops so a batch was especially made but a lot of them are still there!! Stuee, did your front diff end up being ok?

Oops! Kinds gone off track with this thread a bit! Sorry!

What do you know of the RM Doortops? I nearly bought a pair but
then read a few threads about poor build and not fitting too well. Mine arent too bad so will prob. just refurb them.
