Spent the last few days of my holidays geting the disco ready for summer cleaning up a few leaks from the filter housing and crank ventilation system new oil cooler o,rings new lift pump new viscous fan hub adjusted pump timing set valve clearances radiator is out geting rodded out and intercooler presure tested as I recon its leaking.

This engine is always wet around the oil filter and I think I found the issue when I had the housing off as the finish for the filter o,ring to seal on was rubbish cleaned it up will see how it goes

On closer inspection I think the block is not worth saving

That's something to hang on the shed wall as a conversation piece. Hope you get it back on the road soon. Maybe look out for a wreck with a good motor, if they exist.
    Cheers, David.

No wonder the thing wouldn't turn over by hand, I'd definitely keep that as a souvenir for the shed wall

Too bent to withdraw through the bore, and you cant remove the piston downwards or get it far enough to get at the gudgeon. I had to cut it out with the angle grinder

Thanks for that. There is also one in the markets in Tassi.

Getting an estimate for machining and crack testing before i write the block off, but i reckon that will be the outcome.

The other pending decision is whether or not I just move on. There are a lot of low k D2's about for a good price right now. Financially stupid i know but it may be good for my mental health.....
