Today, mine took me for a nice day drive around Sturt National Park after doing Nyngan Saturday, Wanaaring sunday and Tibooburra Monday .... 1/2 the outback dust is coming home inside !! Found two more dust holes (above the back door that are locating holes for the fold down headrests) and sealed them up with gaffa tape ... no more dust on the fridge !! .... only another seventy eleven places to seal up

Tomorrow she'll take us to Cameron Corner.

... and I too love my cup holders !!

And, for those who are interested, the road from Bourke to Wanaaring is fair ... 55-70 towing the kamper. Bit rough & soft in spots. Driven worse. The road from Wanaaring to Tibooburra is fantastic !! 75-80 all the way. They are doing some major improvements about 1/2 way along and the whole road is a bit like an outback super highway.

    Cleaned the gaiters

I cleaned the gear lever and hand brake gaiters and the rubber mats in the doors on the dash and the centre console. Looks real good.
Also off to Autobarn for a Narva H7 globe.

    TD5 Engine Oil-change problem

Today I went to change the engine oil in my TD5 Disco 2a,and noticed two things.
One is that the drain plug I removed has no magnet incorporatedinto it, so Question No 1 is:
shouldthere be a magnet on the end of the threaded section of the engine-oil sump drain plug?

Secondly, the drain plug does not seem to want to tightenproperly.
It just seems to keep turning pretty easily, without appearing to go any further in.

It seems to me that this could be due either to the plug not being the correct one, or that the thread inside the sump drain-hole has been stripped.
Is it really possible (or likely) that the drain-hole thread could be stripped?
And: if so, can it be repaired?

I have only done an oil change (myself) on this car once before, and between then and now had to have a reconditioned short motor fitted.
So I don't know whether the sump is the same one as before, or not.
Have held off re-filling with fresh oil.

I am in Perth - can anyone suggest someone that I could contact for advice or help on this?

    Thanks, Andrew Milne

Bought a Philips one. Nice to have even light again. Life is 600 hours.

The LED H7 has a life of 50,000 hours, but it looks like it will not fit, Well the seal cap will not fit. Any on using the LED H7?

    Thanks
