Clintoo-- I would plan on at least one stud not playing the game,,
just plan for it,, it may not happen but if it does the extra time(and resources!) is considerable--

yeh I was thinking I probably wont be that lucky. I was going to grab a car from work for a week or so. That way I can take my time and not have to rush. The UK seller took about a week to post off the bolts, so I think I'll have another week to complete the manifold anyway.
any thoughts on using freeze and release and using it when the head is hot?
thanks, yeh I saw some guy doing that on a you tube vid. good idea, especially on the sump and propshaft where it is hard to remember exactly which one you have done.
I'll grab a spare car from work, so I wont be forced to rush, if I don't get it done on the weekend it won't be a stress. It makes life a lot harder when you are trying to work to a tight schedule.
Great idea Pedro ... My vote ...
Yep ... "Oh what a feeling, Land Rover!"
She got us from Birdsville to Innaminka via Walkers Crossing Track with a trackside SLS Spring replacement 1/2 way along ... Easy enough job and the flies helped immenselyI knew there was a reason I kept the hi-lift jack in the kamper. On the rhs bump stop, jack the trailer drawbar up high enough to get the jockey wheel down, unhitch, the use the hi-lift in the tregg hitch to lift the back of the D2 up and the rover jack and job was done.
Innamincka to Nocundra pub/waterhole for an overnighter (fantastic free camp!!!) and in Thargomindah now.
Living the dream
To date, 1 X puncture (plugged), oil in the injector loom(running rough at idle but fine at speed and hasn't affect fuel usage - no oil at red ecu plug - just clean the harness plug every couple days), and the SLS airspring .... and ****loads of dust & mud.
Cunnamulla tomorrow ....
Yes Mario, a holiday

						let's see.
Loaded the Dicso to drive to Adelaide, get to Mildura (going via the Barossa Valley for a couple of days) and the bloody thing justs dies on me. Wouldn't lock, with the key fob, start but run for only 3 seconds.
Call the RACV next day get towed to the depo they figure out its the fob that has failed and the spare is at home, 800km away.
Towed home, transfer all the gear to another car and leave for Adelaide.
Not once in three attempts to drive to Adelaide have I made it in a Land Rover vehicle.
Range Rover wiring burnt out.
Disco's head gasket, and this key fob.
which was unable to be figured out at home as when I took it into the local sparkys I would hand over the spare keyfob and not the one that was faulty.
so now there is a 1999 Disco to be sold.
Fobs don't just fail.... even with a flat battery in the fob it will still start the vehicle...
