    I put the centre muffler back on cause the droning noise was a little much.

    Later down the line I'm hoping to cover the car with some insulation (dyna-mat?) and then chuck it back on.

    You'll need earmuffs. I put in a flow-master after one long drive. Droning was bloody awful when towing.

    Yeah straight through, particularly on the auto, is pretty horrible unless you're a boy racer. I have a hotdog in mine and even it is a bit droney for my liking

    I rather like the subdued rumbling that my little V8 delivers, I think that I'll leave the noisy V8's cackling to the Toyota posers.

    My mechanic told me that there's a crack in the timing cover.
    The 2000km old timing cover that went on as part of the rebuild.
    The timing cover that's expensive to have replaced and probably won't be able to be done before Melrose.

    Can you see the crack? Is it leaking oil? I dont recall hearing of a cracked timing case before...
