The only time I've seen HL's fail was when they weren't maintained properly. Even covered in mud they always worked as they were supposed to,, never had an issue with mine, but yes, like a chainsaw,,, total respect, anything can fail at any time, even when well maintained.

From the description it didn't fail just stuck, and if he were holding it with the other hand or had someone else hang on to it the handle wouldn't have gone feral.
but they are bloody dangerous things if not respected and the handle is hard to catch once they run away.

or 400k kms, my head etc was done at 285k kms I'm hoping for at least another 300k kms. I'd like to teach the youngest, 6, to drive in it. I may need a gearbox and transfer case

The repair kit finally arrived so that I could repair my headlight mount that was kindly busted for me when I had my bullbar fitted.
The repair won't win any beauty contests but it is a pretty solid job

    As it was

    new bracket in place

After a few layers of glue and powder

    Job done
    light3.jpg

Total cost of the repair was $46.50
$18 for a new metal mounting bracket
$28.50 for the repair kit that will come in handy when one of my crappy plastic lid clips breaks again on my Waco.
WAY less expensive than a replacement headlight

Had an uneventful trip to Sydney and back over the weekend.

Flicked the TJM bullbar quote to the smash repairers, hopefully have a refreshed front end by mid August.
