Pretty much the norm!
Pulled my radiator out. That would have to be the hardest radiator removal I have ever come across.
As I gave up swinging the spanners 21 years ago I was wondering if this is now the norm, or is it just a Landrover thing?
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

D2 2004 TD5 Classic
--------------------------------------
Started a service on the D2.
Will do all the oils and filters - transmission will get several changes and a filter as it's been neglected a bit.
Will finally get around to dropping the front prop shaft and checking the UJs. It's pretty much original from 2003.
Also wondering about doing the harmonic balancer as a preventative.
Weather's packed in for a few days and the driveway is my workshop!

Removed the oil cooler block water line going around back of head and blocked off both ends. 20mm cap on oil block outlet and 16mm cap on radiator outlet.
Removed the fuel cooler and blocked off the radiator outlet (16mm) and put in a 90 degree (20mm) fitting to reconnect the heater hose sections sans cooler. I want to see how the fuel temp goes minus cooler as everyone has an opinion on so many things they don't actually try, or even at the least see on others vehicles.
Bought some hylomar spray for the elring multi layer steel head gasket and a tube of hylomar M for the cam carrier. And yes a little foam roller and paint tray to do the layer even.
This is all part of replacing the worn cam and injector rockers I found chasing down the throttle delay. I got a skimmed used head with injectors and cam etc . One of the injector springs had a smashed/deformed bottom insert and all the springs/rods lifted off the injectors easily with rockers removed, no experience with these so don't know if they should but I can't remove the springs off the replacement injectors by pulling upwards.
My swap job is a real money pit![]()
Last week I even bought a runabout to get to my appointments and go shopping without borrowing cars or arranging lifts.
Oh well, I am sure all will be smiles whenever it gets running again.
