BTW, it wasn't a crush can failure.
Yes, I realise that, just pointing out that the TJM design spreads the load.

There are only 2 chassis rails at the front of a D2 to mount to so even if the winch cradle is separate to the bar it would still mounted to the same place as the bar, How is that "Sharing" the load?

    I hear you.

I was doing the fuel cooler O rings two Fridays ago in the dark so I could go to the coast on Saturday morning.
I think the neighbours may have heard some fruity language !

Psyching myself up to crawl under the Disco atm.
Had a call out first thing which tied up near four hours (and I'm not on call!) which saved me doing it earlier.
At least I get paid a minimum of four hours double time.

It's behind the crush cans and the mounts go a little further back than right at the ffront

Yep. The TJM winch bar is a great design. As said winch tray bolts to rails aft of the crush cans (as do the aftermarket recovery points) which is a fat superior design for a winch than the winch being bolted to the bullbar (which I understand ARB do for the D2...).

    Cheers

I'm just wondering where the winch and recovery points are mounted separately on the TJM bar as the crush cans on my ARB bar go all the way back to the gusset on the front chassis rails.

I last used mine to pull a bloody great rock out from under the house so SWMBO can put it somewhere inconvenient in the garden. Time before I pulled the stupid ride on out of somewhere it seemed to want to remain.
I have used my winch 3 times so far and twice of those times it has been in the yard.
I first used it to drag a lemon tree that I planted in the bottom half of a water tank to a new position Then I dragged a thumping big tree stump out of the ground, It was dead so it wasn't too hard to pull out.
I did enjoy pulling my mates Toyota out of a small creek that he got stuck in though
