    14.5 is OK .....for a v8 , I've had 3 td5's all auto's , all returned between 10.5 and 11.1 , except when towing a 2.2 tonne boat , that returned average 12.8 , all real corrected figures .

    Post pillar pod

I had been mucking around with this for a while. I bought a set of 3 pillar pods with a universal fit from ebay. Knowing they wouldnt fit with the plan of cutting it down to suit. I had a spare pillar cover from a car I parted out, so this is my first attempt.

I'm not entirely happy with the placement, and the paint reacted to the primer or maybe something on the plastic (I had cleaned it with wax and grease remover) and has spider webbed. So I'm going to have to sand it off and respary it.

But I think I will redo the next one and place it down lower. I will put up some pics of the process once I get it sorted to how I like it.

Filled it up with Diesel that cost $1.06 a litre and drove it some more and some more and it just kept going as usual

I've only been able to fill it for a few weeks since I fixed the leak...but I've been averaging 12-14 L/100 in it, although last tank was 18 but that was towing a car trailer up and down steep hills...
TD5 auto stock but running roof rack with two ladders and a conduit holder.

the other day I had a burning smell for a couple of mins and the cruise control stopped working.
since then about 3 times it has cranked but no start, switching the cruise control on then off fixed it and made it start...but the cruise still won't engage.
    any ideas?

    I've been averaging around 12.5l/100km.
TD5, bog stock auto with 235/70's just as it rolled out of the factory and a roof top tent as a parachute!

I think on a couple of fills through the centre it dipped into the mid/low 11's, but I haven't seen that since.
