Travelling down to byron on the freeway. Car starts to shudder uncontrollably. Huge egg in the tread of my cooper AT’s.
Have been on there since I bought the car. Have put about 50-60k km on them myself but still plenty of tread. The spare is a random tyre, So time to shop for a full new set of slightly less expensive tyres rather than 2 coopers. Xmas present for myself!
.............
Cheers, Josh
Son had a Cooper take out the whole rear guard on his patrol, made a mess, the same still had plenty of tread.
Drove into the supermarket carpark, turning into a bay next to trolley bay, thought yep i'll just miss the pipe, at snails pace, then bang, thought one of Kim Jongs missiles went off, plastic flying everywhere! Time for a roo bar now.........Seems the D2 bumper is a "bit" brittle nowadays.

Didn't get the snorkel done todayit is the last big job before a maintenance service and hitting the road for a year.
However, after many weeks of carefully considering a clever maxtrax mounting solution to form an extra wind deflector in front of the roof tent, today when I was test aligning one to take some measurements I realised they actually fit perfectly in the flat space on the rack in front of the tent. I am calling it a win and not thinking about all those wasted ponderings....
Installed two extra 12V sockets next to the rear door.
Went through my big organised mess of tools and spares to take on the big adventure and cut it down by about 25%. Test packed and things fit reasonably nice and neatly in the storage boxes I made.
Just snorkel, breather extensions, a wash, some paint touch ups and the service and will be good (enough) to go! (Not thinking about all the other little bits and bobs that are still on the list).
Hope to leave town Tuesday or Wednesday - getting excited!
And this morning the fuel pump goes gurgle whine.....
This was yesterday at a disused quarry just in side the park. A small area with some good tracks and a few "Impossible" unless you had rear lockers. I continue to be impressed by the ability of my D2a to go up steep loose tracks with the traction control kicking. I'm getting used to putting the boot in, so to speak so that the TC does kick in. On one section, the car started to slide back and I just put down the pedal and bugger me backwards, the car scrambled up.
Cheers

2 hours = 6 hours.
Sikaflex has two different sized nozzle threads. Purchase the correct nozzle (or don't and do it the fun way.....).
Love my off-brand dremel substitute even more now.
On a related note: Does anyone know the specification and capacity of the oil in the genuine jack? I may have been a little overzealous in releasing the valve and made a mess. Smells/feels like a mineral oil.
