Bugger, but could be worse!
I blew the plastic tank clean out of the Deefer crossing a mountain range once.
Coolant temp was right on 100* and the EGT's were nudging 700*.......
Scared the hell out of my, it was a big whoosh and steam everywhere!
I didn't shut it down, just coasted in angel to my sisters place 2.5km away and filled it while by-passing the heater.
The head gasket finally popped 2 years later!
That bar and lights looks really neat Ian. Cheers
Got the replacement ACE pump installed and primed.
Found that filling the pump on the bench before installing was easier than doing in place.
The radiator return line spigot seems to be securely glued using a 2 part urethane product time will tell.

SupporterAfter major works last weekend, and a degrease and pressure wash during the week i climbed under to replace the front diff oil and found new leaks. Bottom hose is now ****ing every where and i din't even touch it! Means draining the new coolant out. Diff oil was clean wasn't worth the effort to replace it. Still hunting an oil leak, seams to be coming from the back of the head on the drivers side. The rear camshaft plug is fine. Auto fluid still leaking and getting worse but when i took the inspection cover off it looked dry inside the bell housing, so i tightened the bottom pipe and all the plugs around it. Looking at buying an endoscope camera to look inside the bell housing better and behind the head where i can't get to.

SupporterDrove Brisbane to the Blue Mountains. Not a problem-aside from the slight coolant leaks from every hose join after driving up the mountains. I’m sure that’s a built in feature to make sure I replace the fluid every few thousand km.

SupporterFitted new front shocks and springs, replacing the OEM spec (and probably original fitment springs) and wow what difference!
No more thump coming up the driveway and so much better to drive.
In celebration of reaching 300k a full service - diffs; transmission; transfer; coolant clean, flush & change; oil clean and change; filters; prop shaft grease; handbrake adjust; general check over.
Apart from leaking transfer and a slight rear main seal leak, and needing new rear axle seals it’s fairly good to go.
How often does the timing chain need doing? I’ve had this since 250k and don’t know the history except it had a low km engine put in sometime prior to my buying it 2.5 years ago.
