Thread: What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

I'm hoping I misheard him on that it was a bad connection, he's going to email me details, will see....I'm not going to say who it is yet until I know for sure what's going on, he hasn't been mentioned on this forum for quite a few years but has a good reputation as far as land rovers go....

Don't mention who it is. This forum takes a dim view of naming and shaming.
Find out what he reckons let us know.
And then at worst move on.

They can be bored to +20 thou but you'll need new pistons for that.
2nd hand motor is probably your cheapest bet but I'd be wary of your mechanic.

all his email contains is a quote for a 2nd hand engine (no details on engine at all) $2300, installed $1000 and $150 for fluids, $3795 after GST.

Honestly, I have had a bad feeling about this episode from the beginning.

Keep us posted. There are s couple of members who can supply you with a second hand motor for a fair price and known condition.

FYI I've seen TD5 bores with hone marks still visible at those kms.
