I'll be fitting my one in the next week or so. I'll do a walk-through and/or a video.
I have to pull the centre console out to do the CDL, and I'll be doing that, as well as adding some future-proof wiring, routing the UHF antenna wire, etc while I have some easier access.

Finally got around to making and installing the dual battery cradle for the brothers D2!

    20180311_175738.jpg

    20180311_175745.jpg

Original plan was to use 3mm sheet steel(made the template made up out of 0.5mm sheet), but changed plan and used 3mm angle and flat to fab the cradle.

Forget to get a photo of the spaghetti mess that a previous owner had created on top of the standard battery setup, with the cable and cut off switch for the winch just all plonked on top of the battery with the battery cover hiding it all.
Then the wiring for roof lights, spotties and compressor all heaped up to add to the mess.

Next step is to replace those battery terminals with better designed types, the two front terminals only just miss the fibreglass lining under the bonnet, and then clips to secure all the cabling.

There will be a Mk II version of the cradle one day soon.
Not 100% happy with the fab and measurements made.
The angled section did rest on the bonnet lining, and the lining doesn't compress much, so put pressure on the bonnet. Small slit cut on the lining fixed that.
The main problem with the TD5 is the location of the ECU. Because the batteries force it further rearwards, it's squeezed between the rear of the battery cradle and the folded support on the wheel arch(sorry no pics).
That support had to be 'love tapped' with a 5lb sledge to allow the ECU to drop into it's gap without to much pressure on it.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

ACE pipe replacement is either a body off job or replace it with a 2 piece pipe...
i was looking at retrofitting ACE to my old one as I knew of a parts car with it all on...but it's a big job!
wiring harness is different so dash needs to come out, accelerometer in the roof lining so all that needs to come out, lots of stuff on the suspension needs swapping too...
if you have patience, and can park both cars next to each other and swap everything over then it's doable...hell, I've got a mate who swapped a BVH hydraulic semi auto into a manual Citroen DS so anything is possible!!!
i decided I'd rather wait for a good car with ACE already on it....

SLS seems in my mind to be a much easier thing though...and with lots of people going to coils it can't be hard to find the parts surely?
new airbags for sure, but the compressor and valves and switches should usually be ok...

Mine did same halfway through 4000km trip a couple of weeks ago.

No relay for front windows. Switch triggered audible click in BCU so fault was either power/earth to window motor or fault in motor.

Long story short, unplugged harness from window motor, plugged back in, now works.

    Bitter sweet.
