Finally got around to making and installing the dual battery cradle for the brothers D2!

Original plan was to use 3mm sheet steel(made the template made up out of 0.5mm sheet), but changed plan and used 3mm angle and flat to fab the cradle.
Forget to get a photo of the spaghetti mess that a previous owner had created on top of the standard battery setup, with the cable and cut off switch for the winch just all plonked on top of the battery with the battery cover hiding it all.
Then the wiring for roof lights, spotties and compressor all heaped up to add to the mess.
Next step is to replace those battery terminals with better designed types, the two front terminals only just miss the fibreglass lining under the bonnet, and then clips to secure all the cabling.
There will be a Mk II version of the cradle one day soon.
Not 100% happy with the fab and measurements made.
The angled section did rest on the bonnet lining, and the lining doesn't compress much, so put pressure on the bonnet. Small slit cut on the lining fixed that.
The main problem with the TD5 is the location of the ECU. Because the batteries force it further rearwards, it's squeezed between the rear of the battery cradle and the folded support on the wheel arch(sorry no pics).
That support had to be 'love tapped' with a 5lb sledge to allow the ECU to drop into it's gap without to much pressure on it.
