car alarm went off during rain at work,, got there on the 3rd cycle, fobbed the door lock and the alarm stopped. all good right? then why did only the drivers door unlock and the radio was playing with all interior lights on? seems the only way to turn the radio off is to pull the front cover...

Actually last weekend. Got completely bellied out at Moore River Guilderton WA, sand was very soft and chopped up lost traction when slowing down a bit to avoid a RR p38 that was struggling, plus started digging holes real quick with the new Muddies on, just to much tread. Dropped pressure down to under 10psi added some sea weed and out she came

Thats the thing they were already down to 15psi when we bogged. I guess brand new muddies (Bridgestone Duelers MT 674) the side walls are very stiff and dont deform until very low pressure but then run the risk of popping the bead. Once out the hole and pressure back up we were good all day. But you are correct tyre pressure and momentum is good on sand.

Well 6 days after getting my auto serviced it sounds like the clutch packs on 1st & 2nd gears have lost friction material.
Noisy in gear stopped, noisier moving off in 1st and 2nd gear and all good in 3rd & 4th gear.
Quiet while in neutral..
Looks like the rebuild by the last owner only lasted about 100,000 km.
Goes in Monday for them to have a look.

You can NEVER get too much traction in sand MT tyres are just as good as AT tyres in sand, I have had a set of Mickey Thompson ATZ P3's ( these are an AT/MT hybrid) on my D2a now for a couple of years and personally I find them better in sand than regular AT tyres
Did you have the CDL engaged? If you didn't then you were Not in true 4WD.
Don't stress about dropping your tyre pressures down to 15psi or even lower because the D2 mags have an incredibly strong bead lock (ask ANY tyre shop because they All struggle with them) and personally I haven't popped a bead even at 10psi at times.
The sand you were stuck in looks like that nasty talcum powder like crap that WA beaches are famous/infamous for so if at all possible avoid it like the plague.
As a rule of thumb with my D2a in sand I Always engage the CDL , select low range and Most importantly drop my tyres down to 18/15psi BEFORE I enter the beach
The D2a is VERY capable on sand But like every other 4WD it does have its limitations so carrying at least 2x maxtracks or Treads is a pretty good idea "Just in Case" and they work SOOOOOOO much better than seaweed
Most of all enjoy our WA "Sandpit" because we have some of the best and least crowded beaches in the country and lets face in during our hot WA summer not much else will beat a trip down to the beach for a dip or just to enjoy the cooler seabreeze
