It's the small things. New foam into the plenum cover.

Also checked the vitals and took her for a run with the dog. Hard to beat the sound of the 4.6 going though narrow quiet streets early in the morning.

    Cheers

she had to go back to the stupid original owner!

Doofus! .. he can't make up his mind.
It's too complicated to describe in 10000 words or less .. anyhow ... (temporarily) I'm D2-less.

I'm on a mission to quickly fix up the non functioning blower motor on the little french pug, to get it back to the confused bro. D2 is gone only a few hours and already I'm suffering!
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

That paints a nice picture in my head.
If you want to treat the D2 even more Scott, you'd probably love the addition of a Slickshifter

Surely you've done enough to give you more than 50% share over the years.
If not, why not buy your own to end the D2 table tennis

Mate that slick shifter looks very sweet. Indeed it would add a certain something. I had a broken bias spring plate a year or so back and replaced it then. This kit looks great and used to only be for Defender. Cheers
PS. That's a good looking box What happened to your Discovery 2 today?
PPS. Am I right in saying that the main change is that the kit puts the shifter higher, giving greater lever action on the selector ball and then adjustable bias spring separator gives you a perfect neutral 3_4 gate position? Wonder how that goes with the gaiter which is the correct height for the stock lever height...,?

Those factory bias plates are made too thin, they really need to beef them up a bit.
    Cheers

I agree Simon. The Slickshift plate and separate bias insert plate are very HD. Good improvement in reliability I suspect. Cheers

I've only seen 1 gaiter after a years use ( which was fine ) but I've fitted 3 Slickshifts to D2's and 2 to Defenders.

Your description of how it works is correct

It's definitely an improvement, not mind blowing, just gives it a more positive feel, still have to keep a good oil, changed regularly up to them, I use Syntrans 75/90 just because it's easy to get around here.

Yes, agree the bias plate is too thin

I'm also using the LOF slave cylinder for a lighter clutch, all these little things add up to a sweeter, more modern feel.

I assume all this is good for a D1 as well? My Ashcroft Suffix L has gone sloppy in the shift. I'd love to fix it.

And, what's a LOF slave cylinder?
