I should add that the best thing about doing this job was that I found the bracket where the heat shield bolts on to the back of the engine was broken through completely - it must have been one of my vibration/noise causes that I've been complaining about as it's heaps better.

Thanks , yep genuine intercooler, I wasn't aware it was a defender, d2's are between the condenser and radiator, you want 19-20 psi, make sure the pipework is OK and if so shorten the actuator rod

Thanks, I'll check all the pipe work, then fiddle with the actuator.

checked hoses etc and shortened up the actuator. Now making 18psi and much nicer to drive. Thanks!

    Hi all,
Just swapped mine over. Pretty easy to do but a bit fiddle with lower oil pipe, due to not quite aligned correctly. Quick undo of bolts and a twist, all good!
Will take for a run later. Now fitting oil catch.

Good write up in how to do. Only issue I had was I had to prise the turbo off too...really well stuck in. Gave it a spray and used jack handle to gently prise off. (Jack handle was closer than walking to the tool box for a pry bar).

Yes and no. I had 245/75/16 wheels on my car previously. I then put on a set of 32" muddies from a car I parted. I ran them briefly and sold them and put the 245s back on. Then yesterday I got a set of new mickey thompson deegan 32s put on.

So I really cant say what difference it has made as I'm not all that used to how it drives with the new tyres.

However, it does make more boost. i will need to wind my wastegate modulator down. I'm hitting 20psi quite easily without having to bury my foot too far.
Hi Clintoo, this off topic ... is that an oil separator of some form connected with the red hoses? Is it fitted to a D2?
Feel free to PM with more details.
It's the first time I have seen one.
