Thread: Show us your D2 rear bar

Good timing. My new bar went to the powder coaters yesterday.

Should have it back at the end of next week.

Here is a sneak peek:

How heavy is it?
Looks to have a fair bit of weight
Looks very strong probably stronger than the mounts on the chassis?
Should look good powder coated interested in seeing the finished product the profile of the side wings you can see in the photo look vey good.

I didn't have a chance to weigh it yet, before it went off, but I would guess between 30 & 40 kg's. There is an additional mount down to the tow bar bracket to assist. I had a look at the Kaymar bars, and adopted a similar design.

The weight has been a consideration, but considering that a lot of the ARB / TJM / Kaymar bars are designed to accept 1 or 2 spare tyres, I reackon the mounts should be strong enough.

I will take some better pics & upload them when I get it back & have fitted the lights & reversing sensors.

Courtesy of a minor indrescrection my good lady had with a fence my insurer agreed to have the below fitted instead of original.



landy spares ex uk bar, purchased via rovacraft syd/mel (cheers andrew).
looks good and no chance this one will break on anything, $650 and uses original light fittings.

That bar looks sweet, very similar to the 4x4 intelligence one. Unfortunatly my lower rear quarter panels are badly scratched, so I will either have to cover them and reinforce the bar around them...or bit the bullet and chop them. I'm really not at the stage where I'd like the chop them, so I think I'll make something similar to the rovertym rear bar which covers them.
Or paint the lower quarter panel and get that awesome Landy Spares one
