I found one of those refrigerant jugs down under some stuff under the house a while ago,it was purple R502.
Empty,it was the smaller one with the schrader in the top,no valve.
When its a small unit with the compressor contact in the indoor unit, don't put the compressor thru an inline fuse if your going to protect a 1.5mm interlink. It will blow. reduce the circuit breaker in the switchboard.
The days of Dcurve breakers are gone.
The air conditioning committee at Monash Uni used to amuse me some rooms take a ceiling tile out the room will fill with rat**** but add more ac to hide the smell was one of their favourite tricks with all the advisers air conditioning contractors with only one idea we'll add another unit.in other cases its cheaper to change the unit instead of clean 1/2 inch of dirt out off the filter even thou the paper work said the filter was cleaned every 6 months. Yes the service boys have put me up against the wall and told me to shut up.
A couple of years ago I disconnect a package unit at shop known for 15 years of bad aircon as we were running it to pump it down we noticed the economy cycle dampers were working in reverse draging in hot air in the heat of the day.
About 3 yrs ago,we changed 42 damper motors on one site, most were on fire dampers, they spring return once power is dropped off. They went the wrong way and were not reversible. The others were on outside air and spill air dampers. Many of the dampers were dual purpose.
The plant was about 15yrs old,so for many years the fire system had never been checked. And whoever put the actuaters on had NFI what they were doing.
D curve breakers,we use a few,mainly in large mechanical switchboards,on compressers,or on large supply fans,that are DOL.
On the fans, the breakers are no issue, they work well.
Its stopping the overload tripping which is the issue, particularly on fans that cycle.
Wrong................ everyone knows you can't use rope to tie down anything anymore, one must use rated ratchet straps.
And if a hook on either end of the strap comes detached due to vibration, or the load shifting, don't blame the tard who came up with the regs for the ensuing chaos, because common sense isn't a unit of a uni degree.

Do you know anyone that’s ever done that? Most just stick 1.5 between the indoor and outdoor unit regardless of the size of the cable to the outdoor unit. I’ve never seen anyone trying to protect the cable at all. Most other Sparkies I speak to look at me like I’m the dumbass when I discuss this with them…
