apparently quite simple ,he looks afer ports and electric companies, they use old computer language apparently but can be easier to check if been "modified". usually simple to bypass a "secure system" get someone who works somewhere and has a drug habit, free drugs for the hack/ inside knowledge but can lead to problems...................... hence the sophistication of a remote hack, less human problems, logical if you are a criminal.

I don't understand. Is this the first time you've heard of these ways that people have been smuggling drugs? ? Smuggling contraband via cargo ships has been going on since they existed. It wasn't those companies smuggling drugs in that example, it was the mafia using them to smuggle their own drugs with a corrupt helper on the inside. The cargo companies where probably spewing they only charged them express flatrate

No of course it isn't shwza, & this topic is only one of a couple that gav brought up as examples. Call it getting to the Nitty Gritty if you like.


I used to attend International Cargo Sheds & wharves when I was kid when my old Dad was a Tally Clerk but was too naive to even think about these things & anything I may have noticed, would not have crossed my mind as being a bit dodgy, just normal activity on a wharf & I most certainly wouldn't have asked Pater. Also probably trying to dodge the Lister Auto Trucks. Blokes skylarking & grabbing each other's nads as they did could have easily been a method of passing Drugs if they were hung like an Elephant's trunk but as far I was concerned he was giving his mate a good natured "Gotcha".
Later in life one tends to notice & question those same things.

Re nukes. as I understand it, they can be just in a wooden box & not Scanned or Declared for radioactivity by said corrupt officials. The case wouldn't necessarily have NUCLEAR BOMB HANDLE WITH CARE. DO NOT DROP., ink stencil-led on it in 150mm high numbers either. Essential parts could be added later. "Machinery Parts" seems to be a popular mask these days.
It doesn't even have to look like a traditional bomb with fins just a box with "Do not open under any circumstances" That would be enough to put me off.

I don't trust big business or governments but I don't believe for a second either of these things would happen with the carriers knowledge. Could there be drugs or people in a container - wouldn't be the first time no, but the nut jobs I've looked at on line claim the ships hull is empty and there are 1000's of people in there and the containers on top are decoration to disguise the ships actual use. Considering the cost of this ship I doubt smuggling a few thousand people each trip would pay it's way somehow and while I'm sure it visits ports that have corrupt officials, it also uses most of the larger European ports where quarantine and border control are taken seriously, so nope, I don't buy this for one second.

Nukes - not a chance - no government will let a nuke out of their sights at all, for any reason. They have plenty of other much more secure ways of moving them - a shipping container on a general freight carrier isn't one of them. Every Country that has nukes also has a pretty decent Military and other hardware too. You think they couldn't get one of their own ships started so they just booked it via E-go to get it to where it has to be?
