How I mi s the Good Old 'Form S' . With a Group Certificate and 5 minutes, a simple wage-earner (me) could satisfy HM Tax Office.

And a refund posted back in a week or two.

Then they simplified the language....

I don't begrudge my agent his $$$.

Buy some US shares. do it a few times for X $. Sell some US shares for $X then later for $XX then later for $XXX and yep I need a tax agent not to run away

A few years ago here in the UK they were going to create a new database of everyone in the UK. Seems it was necessary as the existing dad bases for passport, drivers licence, tax and voters roll had so many false and incorrect records they could not be used. Now how were people going to prove who they were for the new database. No prizes if you guessed by supplying drivers licence, passport and voter roll. Now what could possibly go wrong ……

Bloody hell! That doesn't even bear thinking about. Govts really have no idea as too much seems to handed out to Mate's consultant friends.

Same here,need a good one,hard to find.

Had a great one,he retired,next was useless,next was fantastic,probably the best we ever had,unfortunately he sold the business.Said he was going to retire,but i did think he was a bit young for retirement.
I then ran into someone who knew him,and he is doing the same,working from home,but can't take us until February next year as he is under a contract as we were with him at his company,previously.The old 3 yr rule.
So start of next year back to him.

Meanwhile, we have to put up with the company he sold,and their mistakes
And they made some big mistakes,luckily SWMBO is onto it.

I then ran into someone who knew him,and he is doing the same,working from home,but can't take us until February next year as he is under a contract as we were with him at his company,previously.The old 3 yr rule.

Unfortunately, I have been a bit of a kiss of death to my accountants, as one died from cancer and another from a heart attack, and one sold his business to another company who killed off the old business name, by just absorbing it into their company.

Spoke to accountant who just said that’s how it goes. Asked for discount on bill as advise was not correct would not budge on price

Complained to accounting body that accountant was qualified through about poor advise and lack of reduction in bill to reflect quality of advise. My losses were many times more than the bill. Couple of months later they came back to say they only manage qualifications not quality of work or the conduct of their members
