Just keep thinking that you might not get infected but if you do get infected then that you dont have a genetic pre disposition to the stucture of this particular virus strain and then be in a place where the secondary infection doesnt respond to normal treatment and or has become resistant to that treatment. Unlike statasically but actually can happen as I have seen in the medical game over 30 years..............

Unless you live on an isolated island and don't have any other human contact at all Everyone has a chance at getting this new virus because it isn't just going to disappear anytime soon.
Just like any of the other flue viruses that are now have become endemic we ALL have a chance of getting this new one regardless of age or fitness level, The problem at the moment is that there isn't a vaccine for the corona virus yet.
Panicking about this won't help one iota But using your common sense and getting medical help as Soon as you can Will vastly increase your chance of beating this new "Nasty"
You only get one shot at life, Aim well

People have questioned how will those quarantined get food etc. The answer is easy. Their mates will look after them. Whatever happens, we face it together. [ That's a bit melodramatic, this may even turn out to be not the apocalypse some expect it to be] One thing's for sure, it's a great wake up call to get up and do that bucket list, before it's too late.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Yes. That has crossed my mind as well but not taking home deliveries of any sort.. I didn't mention it anywhere before.

Uber Person. "Here are those Pork Buns you ordered Mr Lee" "Right, on to the next delivery on my list"

Who knows where they have delivered beforehand before getting to you? No-one, except Uber Joe.

I think we have to keep going the way we are going and try and reduce the chances of getting it the best we can.
Read as much as possible about it.
Remember history, the great Plague in London, people told, and forced to stay home, but home is where the rats lived, the cause of it all, they should have gotten out into the country side and more would have survived.
Beware the use of face masks, as a former lab tech, a surgical face mask is effective for up to an hour. Then destroy it.
Why? the human mouth has over 500 known germs, due to sugar based diet, much more than say, dogs or cats.
Wearing a mask for hours on end, and you have created a cesspit of bacteria, in fact a 'petri dish' on your face. Warm moist breath feeds the growth and creates the "perfect" environment for germs to thrive. They are designed to protect the patient from the doctor spitting on a wound, not the other way around.

over reaction seems to be the norm, I would have no problem walking down the street in Wuhan without one.
Yes, I am 66 years old,
    just my 2 cents.....

Our bog roll hoarders at least will get to use it for a few years. I think I have enough for a few weeks here. I do not mind if people hoard a bit. The ones buying to try and sell it to others trying to get some are not my fav people.

Me im under 50 and healthy as a mallee bull. I am probably safe.

You meant to add,"For now that is".. Things can change pretty quickly.

Even Mallee Bulls can have their life ended in a split second.

All of you naysayers can get on & do what you think is best for you. I understand the points you have made but it is my life however limited it may be.

Me? I'll be using using some commonsense & plenty of hand washing & endeavouring to cover all bases...

A friend of 'er indoors said yesterday that she is going for lunch at the not so local Chinese Restaurant today but "she will be ok she said, She is going to be wearing gloves." Eerr nooo. That is fine until she gets home & turns the metal door handle which she has never previously thought of sanitising. Who knows what she is bringing into the house from elsewhere? Was the Cutlery sanitised, & the dinner plate? The table cloth? Her friends? All laid by a Chinese staff member & on & on it goes.
Well, I don't know if her friends have been laid by a Chinese Waiter but you never can tell these days.
