I don't know how their technique compares with other places, but I have come across quite a few articles reporting very low rates of false positives. A lot of the unsubstantiated claims about high rates of false positives appear to be on sites that quite obviously have an agenda.

Human nature being what it is.... Very Probable.

So, is Tony Fauci telling the truth here? - High rates of false positives, but only IF the PCR is, 'over-cooked' Dr. Fauci and the New York Times confirmed the PCR tests are too sensitive to be considered worth anything – Kevin Bae dot com

You could be on to something there.... (Not being a good idea...)

AVAST security just rejected me from accessing that site... something about a "URL Blacklist" Whatever, am too chicken to pursue it....

EDIT:- Noticed it's a CHINESE website, possibly why Avast got nervous. LD32 is the model number. Not listed on the Australian Fenix site. The Chinese don't seem to worry about OH&S as much as we do, so they wouldn't be interested in these warnings ! :- Using UV light to kill coronavirus: The benefits and risks - CNET

If NSW can carry out 17,000 tests yesterday with no positives (false or otherwise), it is impossible to see how the PCR test can be seen as giving false positives except in very rare cases.

In an astonishing development, it turns out South Australia’s instant overnight lockdown was triggered by a lie. A pizza restaurant worker claimed to have caught the virus after a single visit to the pizzeria, not mentioning that he worked there. State officials knew that another employee had tested positive and assumed the strain in question must be incredibly virulent if this young man had become infected after one visit. In a moment of frantic overreaction, the government of South Australia ordered an instant shutdown, throwing businesses back into turmoil and ensuring the masses would immediately pile into their cars to buy life-saving toilet paper in industrial quantities.

Speaking of Australian made...and off-topic. Went to an iconic Replacement Engine Parts COmpany today, and among the bargains was a a plastic bucket, "Proudly made in AUSTRALIA" for $2. - Bought it on principle ! - Fed up with 99cent rubbish-quality buckets from a big green hardware store
A two buck bucket? Gotta be a first.

I saw what you did there SQ. Ex Mi-5 are you? Did they also teach you about writing in Lemon or Potato Juice for Invisible writing?

Btw, for the record (which you didn't author) we don't begrudge the shut down nor believe the SA Govt or SAPOL should apologise as some claim they should. They acted in the interests of SA Citizens with the information they had at hand not knowing the 36 year old bloke was a freakin' liar. I think I would prefer an Over-reaction rather than none at all.
If if they had not acted as they did the alternative would be moaned about & questions asked & horsepiddles filled.

Well green does make more sense one has to admit, lemon juice getting on your togs can be bastard as it could fade the patch.

Imagine walking down the street with "Ban the Bomb" or "Mi6 Sux" highlighted in lemon Juice on your lapels of your Hired Suit.

    Edit.
"in each bathroom.". EACH! Are you some sort of rich geezer. In my day we used a cut open 10 gallon Flimsy Kero Tin with raw edges.

Well only until I was about 8 years old, until then I was small enough fall in all the time & who needs a stinking 8 year old kid hanging around. After this age my 'rents got a proper fairly solid rolled 10 Gallon job & that was much much better. I think the old man picked it up off one of the wharves at Port Adelaide.

Never looked back after that, & recently I went to Bunnings & got a proper plastic Seat & Lid Self Closing Combo. UTTER BLISS.

Never knew they existed & we used to fold the tin flap back & forth all the time (until it broke off) & really thought this was what every Modern Home had. We did feel posh.
