The vast majority live in the illusion that everything in their life is under control, when the reality is that the only things we can directly control is our direct actions and reactions, what we put in our mouths and what comes out of our bum.
Think of babies and what they do
I could write a long explanation later, but when we get that we have no control over anything externally, life becomes a lot more freeing.
And looking at urban dwellers the number of things that they can control in their environment is even less. All those services that have been "contracted out" such as eating (restaraunts) fitness(gyms) entertainment, means that in a modern society when those services are not available you are much less able to control your lifestyle than for example, a farmer living on his property where he is very much in charge of quite a large environment.
