Just do the right thing, that's all we ask up here in Qld. In case you haven't noticed, only two places in Australia have placed us in this situation. For different reasons. Rant all you want, won't make a difference if you and your mates don't do the right thing. And yes, **** you if you don't care enough to do the right thing.

If they came from interstate since July 10 and they came from Victoria, Liverpool or Campbelltown they would have been turned back at the border or sent to hotel quarantine at their expense.
If they were Queenslanders returning from hotspots since July 10 they would have been sent to hotel quarantine.
There is a reference to people returning back to April, so maybe they were Queenslanders returning before July 10 who had been to a hotspot, remembering that the list of hotspots declared by Qld since March previously included other parts of NSW which have since been taken off the hotspot list. They were able to isolate at home.
Maybe some people gave the correct address at the time, but have since moved after the quarantine 14 days. Almost half the population rents now.
Some people live permanently on the road and don't have a home address, so maybe they have just changed caravan parks and headed for the warmer north.
Maybe someone in the family is sick and they have moved to care for them.
Maybe they moved to be near new jobs.
So it's not necessarily as simple as it seems from the headline.
Mick, don't try to give a sensible explanation, seems to me they are all in denial, we'll just have to have big shoulders to carry these bastards until they come to their senses. Strike me roan, I've never seen so many delusional people since the first State of Origin game. The best idea Anna has had was to shift the border south. At least then that might shut them up about Greg Inglis.

Yes but she didn't like it when Glads responded with a suggestion to move the border north up into the Gold Coast

Really hope NSW, particularly Sydney, can avoid a repeat of what's happening in Melbourne. Sydney with its large, dense, population is the danger point. Fast testing and results and then contact tracing seem the keys to containment.

I read in Perth an investigation has found similar potential problems with security guards and hotel quarantine, but fortunately it hasn't caused an outbreak of community transmission - yet.

All states use security companies to free up cops for more important jobs. There is a National Cabinet agreement about managing hotel quarantine.

Its NSW people in Tweed Heads who are complaining about delays in crossing into Qld, so Qld Premier AnastaciaP was just trying to help them by moving the checkpoint south to the Tweed River so the Tweed people north of the river would not have suffered delays, but apparently NSW Premier GladysB would rather play interstate politics than be sensible, so the Tweed residents of NSW should blame GladysB for their being delayed.

Once again Mick, don't try to talk sense. The virus has addled their brains.

NSW bans overseas seasonal workers from entering the State.

    Key points:

    • Seasonal workers on a visa cannot get a permit to cross the NSW border
    • Pacific workers, backpackers and people on working holiday visas are considered "high-risk"
    • The citrus industry says the decision is "illogical and discriminatory"

Restrictions tightened for entry to NSW from Victoria.

Restrictions tightened for entry to NSW from Victoria

Record COVID-19 cases in Victoria has seen the NSW Government further restrict entry to NSW from Victoria with the establishment of a strict new border zone along the Murray River, tightened permit conditions and stronger enforcement powers.

Under a border entry permit, NSW border residents will be restricted in their reasons for travelling into the Victorian side of the border zone. If they travel beyond the border zone into Victoria, they will be required to self-isolate upon return for 14 days.

The revised order will prohibit seasonal workers coming from Victoria into NSW, amongst other things.

The changes came into effect at midnight Tuesday 21 July.

More information about the NSW border restrictions and Queensland border restrictions.

Queensland has added Fairfield in Sydney to the list of NSW hotspots which prevent entry to Qld, from 1am on Monday. I guess existing passes will have to be renewed, so that should annoy Tweed residents even more.
Interesting that when Premier AnastaciaP announced the addition of Fairfield to the hotspot list on Twitter earlier today, most of the replies were from Queenslanders calling for all of NSW to be blocked immediately.
I guess she would try to avoid that to help the Qld tourism industry recover, but if NSW fails to contain community transmission in Sydney, as happened in Melbourne, then more Sydney suburbs might be added to the hotspot list. So far its NW Sydney affected. Hope it doesn't spread.
