Well, in the recent past "herd immunity" was a reference to vaccination rates, not infection rates.

I took this as humour, but even vic has a long way to go, the infections rates are so low vs the population of vic

I don't think anywhere in Australia has been much over 0.4%.

Not good news in terms of natural or vaccinated immunity with the many genomic variations of covid out there. A Hong Kong man has apparently been 'proven' to have caught covid twice. He apparently recovered from the first infection. Five months later he traveled to Spain and caught a different strain of covid. This make the vaccine that arrives quite interesting. It might be like the flu vaccine and need cover various strains of the corona virus.

I receive many memes from friends and customers all day every day, most of them are meant to be funny, but I receive a lot of them that are not funny, a lot that are blatantly rude (funny in the right place) and some that are just way over the top even to talk about
The ones that make me laugh and I think will bring a smile to someone, I will post
I was in two minds wether this one should go to funny pics but it had a corona theme to it so I posted it here to give someone else a laugh

Gav I had a chuckle but ar the same time i worry how anti establishment so many peo people are getting relying on social media apps and having way too much time lately to think about the world. My rant was a general one because I am sick to the teeth of hearing complete nonsense and knowing that we may all suffer because of a growing minority who with no evidence and no personal reasoned reason to distrust the Govt of Aust may choose not to get the jab or not to socially distance or even wear masks where that is required.

I deactivated my FB and Insta accounts months ago partly as I couldn't believe the number of old friends posting anti vax and anti 5G stuff that kept appearing in my timeline.
I'd blocked a heap of overtly religious posts, and was contemplating the political and just blocked the lot

Bloody Hell, Gav! If this offended anyone one here then they obviously don't drive a Landy (or a Jeep) and if it has , perhaps they should spend some time in the "Room of Mirrors".

I find most things have a wee bit of humour attached. I mean, it's funny that this is post #6488 of a 'C19' thread, a thread which hasn't really supplied anything more than updated news items but people seem to get cranky over things in it? There's humour in that, hey!

Can be either - just means sufficient numbers have achieved an immunity which can be through vaccination or infection.

And no - the infection rates in Australia are so low it will take decades for this to happen here with the current control methods.

So we will all have to wait for a vaccination to be found and no doubt the majority of people will be queuing for it like a fresh supply of toilet rolls.
