I would agree. And it may surprise a lot of haters.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

This VW has 3 top mounts for child seats, so I'm thinking L, Centre and R side placement.

Agreed, the centre-rear is the safest seat, which is why in Australia they put baby capsules there with a top tether. But, as your VW link shows, Isofix is only available on the outer rear seats.

This came about because the Swedes were insisting that top tether wasn't as good as Isofix (actually it is, other than for side forces, in relation to which it's less rigid) and because most Euro cars then were smaller and didn't have a viable centre seat position, they opted to stipulate as the standard to only have Isofix on the rear sides and not in the middle. Which didn't work for Australia and that's when Australia dropped out of the discussions setting up Isofix as a standard.

The Swedes also fit child seats in the front, where there are airbags, which is why a lot of Euro cars have a switch to disable the front passenger airbag. But the disable switch is (or is supposed to be) disabled in Australia.

NZ has had a case surface over the weekend that is a worry.

A man who returned to New Zealand from India on August 27, did his mandatory two weeks in managed isolation (MI) in Christchurch, and had two negative tests (Day 3 and 12). He returned home to Auckland on September 11 but started feeling ill on September 16. He was tested and his result came in on Saturday, positive. His two family members (who had not traveled anywhere) tested positive Sunday. He and his family self-isolated as soon as he developed symptoms, and two days later they were moved into the Auckland quarantine facility.

Genomically the virus he had has been linked back to two other travelers on the plane with him returning from India.

Explanations from Ministry of Health (MoH) officials include:
    • He had a rare, extremely long incubation period after catching Covid in India or on the flight from India, or
    • He caught it on his flight from Christchurch to Auckland or
    • He caught it on Day 10-11 of his MI stay (MoH are not saying whether the other infected travelers from India were staying at the same facility).

My thinking is he could have also had a false negative on Day 12.

Either way it is a worry that even doing the MI stay of 14 days correctly can still not get everything. An expert is asking for a further period of self-isolation after returning home from MI.

Nobody has ever pretended that the 14 days is the maximum incubation period. It has always been described as "99%" will be under 14 days, but given the numbers involved, there will always be a few longer. Setting the quarantine period at 14 days has always, like the other public health measures, been a bit of a compromise. If we wanted 100% certainly, there would be no entry to anyone, ever!

Yes, it has been hit-home now that the 2-week duration is a fix for the majority for people. So many possible variables in this thing and so many consequences to an outlier (or a false negative). We find out at 1pm this afternoon if we change alert levels. The media would indicate that this latest issue will not likely have a large impact on the decision so if that is an informed view, I guess it is being acknowledged as a possible outlier. Hopefully it is contained to the immediate family members and is not the start of another community outbreak. Repatriation must be allowed to continue.

This year for the first time, the corona virus has prevented my Wife and I from taking a Luxury World Cruise.

Every other year we have not gone because we could not afford it.

    Sign on a shop:

If you come into the store without a mask, we have to take your temperature.

P.S. We only have rectal thermometers.
