I had a coronavirus test yesterday afternoon - my dentist wanted it before I came to see him.
Just got the texted result, so the result came within about 20 hours. That's a day quicker than my last one.
Given that there's still 15,000+ being tested each day it suggests that they've improved processing efficiency.

Yes, at least one is a foreign permanent resident who's previously been denied a permit to re-enter Australia:
One Australian permanent resident, who spoke to The Age and Sydney Morning Herald on the condition of anonymity, flew into Melbourne on the 4.50pm Friday Jetstar flight after travelling from Auckland earlier in the day.
He said he was "relieved" to return to his home in Melbourne, after repeatedly trying to fly back to Australia from New Zealand but being denied a permit.
The man told multiple ground staff at Sydney airport he was planning on travelling through to Melbourne, but he was not stopped or detained after passing temperature testing.
"There was nothing saying you couldn’t enter Melbourne once you’re in the country, only that you had to fly to New South Wales," he said.
"If you’re open to one, you’re open to all because people from New Zealand are deemed no risk for COVID and Victoria’s borders are open. I think the system needs clarifying.
"There’s no clear information. On the day before I flew out, I was still dealing with Air New Zealand and Home Affairs, no one could give me a straight answer on whether I could get home. Everyone I talked to was in the same boat.
"I might have taken advantage of it, but it was the only way to get home."

She'll be right, we are all clean here in NZ, we won't infect you dirty Vics!![]()
Just shows the lockdown rules in Victoria have gone too far and for too long.
Just as there is no reason to not allow people into Victoria from other states, or NZ for that matter, there is no reason why we should be limited to our 5km bubbles.
Let us hope some common sense prevails tomorrow.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
I don't know so much, there has never been anything stopping people in NSW regardless of nationality traveling to Victoria as long as they comply with the local restrictions and I know of at least two people who have done so for family reasons. The sting is when you return you need to quarantine/isolate for two weeks. As you have stated once the Kiwis cleared customs it is no longer a border force or federal government matter and since Victoria has no inward restrictions there would have been nothing preventing them from traveling on.
