On all major highways they had police roadblocks. Every car was stopped.

The government called it “the ring of steel”.

I had to go through it multiple times. The police were always professional - sometimes I got grilled sometimes I didn’t.

My travel time increased by 5 minutes at the start, through to an extra 50 minutes of sitting in traffic later on.

Thank God it’s now going !

The images I saw looked like a mega Booze Bus operation during peak hour.

Was unfortunate that originally the Ring of Steel also split the small community of Little River until they revised the border.

There are police and ADF, so not sure what to call it..

Was also known as Dan’s Great Wall of Melbourne.

Part of the Belt & Road initiative perhaps?
