Yep- a mate was in ICU post a car crash in the states several years ago. It was close to $500,000 I recall

I did see the entire bill for my private rebuild. Not pretty but a lot less than that

Keep it in context, a great percentage of Yanks earn under $10.00 an hour.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Its tough to make living there and oddly here at times!

Medical Centres phone systems might be turned off if Minister Hunt or his bloody websites keeps telling people to ring GPs to ask about vaccines! My staff are threatening to walk over the issue - NOT HAPPY JAN

Anyone having minister hunts phone number care to share it. I am currently Paying for my phones to have options i did not have

    Push:
OPTION 1 to listen to information about Covid 19 Vaccines including instruction on Misters phone number?
Option 2 To book and appointment for the Covid19 we have not got ring the Misters phone number
Option 3 For appointment to see your doctor we sincerely apologies for our staff and systems melt downs due to the thousands of people calling for information and bookings over poor advice to call us before we have the bloody vaccines provided for you!

Just kidding not going to subject our patients to that waffle!

Need a Vote Button? Turn off my phones? Divert all calls to Idiots who suggest you ring multiple GPs to ask Known Unknowns?

Headline-"Frustration as Australians over 70 get green light to book a COVID vaccination but GP clinics are caught unprepared"

Seriously- we attended every COVID19 WEBNAR and information session. All done the Covid19 vaccine training. Every thing required is ready except the supplies of vaccines! NOT US UNPREPARED Hundred of hours determining all of our patients vaccine eligibility.

At a guess $10,000 plus+++ in costs and counting with out a cent from the Health Department! Frustrations are clearly being shared

Happy Saint Patrick day- I am going to get a beer after work

Cripes! Just the one James? if I could send it online I'd send you an 18 Gallon keg or it's metric equivalent. Plumbing included.

Here, the phones opened at 0900, 1/2 hour later they had a looooong list.(according to staff) That sounds a bit dodgy to me if true. That's if they can get the Vaccine. 800 doses is all they can get.

They took our details to see if we qualify, I realise I look only 24 but I guess they have to be sure.

If we are lucky we might be back in 2 weeks for a Jab. That is, if the rooms can get the Vaccine.

Didn't realise there were so many olde Codgers in this area.

I am allowed to get the vaccine now - would prefer the Phizer version but I don't have a choice - so will have to be Astra - not worried about its side effects but am concerned that while it is good against the standard strains it is proving less effective against evolving strains like the SA version. Also with so many countries stopping it, will they accept people vaccinated with Astra when the borders start opening up.

Not such an issue for me but it will cost me about $45 to get the jab at my Doctor - he does not bulk bill so will still charge his usual charge and I will have to claim back the medicare fee of about $40.

The whole thing is just plain messy and does not inspire confidence in the admin of the process.

Now, someone correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding of this experimental vaccine is this:

    a) It does NOT prevent you from catching the China virus,
    b) It does NOT prevent you from transmitting the China virus,
    c) It DOES (supposedly) prevent catastrophic symtoms and hospitalisation, and
    d) It DOES (supposedly) prevent death.

So, therefore, we are going to allow people into Australia that could very well be carrying this China virus and not know it and be transmitting it all over the place when we currently (and for the forseeable future) have the worst vaccination stategy of most first world countries.
... Then, 'They' wonder why some people are.... Hesitant about accepting an experimental (final trials finish around 2022-24 or so) "vaccine" that is NOT, by definition, a VACCINE.

e.g. Getting vaxxed for the Spon Plague means, (for most of us travelling to Scotland), you WON'T get the plague if you're exposed to an infected/infectious/asymptomatic Scotsman. Nor will you pass on the Dread Disease to your kith & kin....

then there is this pic doing the rounds... Real or fake-news ? - like other VIP's getting jabbed... by a syringe still wearing the orange needle-cover.

    .
Countries have paused using it because of a concern that it may cause blood clots, not because it's ineffective. So no issue when crossing borders.

South Africa has stopped using it because of its poor effectiveness against the SA strain.
