Bruce Springstein is reopening his live production on Broadway, only those vaccinated with vaccines approved by FDA for use in the US, ie Pfizer, Moderna & J & J, will be allowed in. Not sure about the rest of the USA.

Here are the rules on domestic travel in the USA. People fully vaccinated by a FDA authorised vaccine or a vaccine authorised for emergency use by the WHO can travel safely within the US. AZ has been authorised by WHO for emergency use.

Spare a thought, too for the players, staff and organisers with the Qld Independant Secondary Schools, Confraternity Rugby League competition, being played at Wynnum. After two days of comp, involving 50 teams from throughout Queensland, it has now been cancelled.
A real pity, even more so for me, as my nephew's team, St Pats, Mackay, were undefeated and would have been a hot chance to win the title.

Yes, I understand the mechanics of it all. They are not the first government to go the parochial route nor will they be the last. Hell, just look at what happens between our states.

So why do we suddenly WANT a covid jab that according to it's makers, will NOT,, that is, NOT prevent you from getting it.... only a milder version ????? (not often 'arguing for a negative'... is accepted as valid argument)
Because it will be an insurance against getting extremely sick or possibly dying from COVID19 not to mention that looking at it purely from a community service perspective, doing your part to reduce the spread.

From the Hoxton Park cluster, 6 people out of 30 were fully vaccinated, 24 were not. Guess which ones caught the virus? I'll give you a tip...it wasn't the 6.

Girls teams played for the first time this year. Some good footballers come out of the Independant secondary schools, Jonathon Thurston and Xavier Coates just two of many. The games were being livestreamed at www.confraternitycarnival.com.au

Thanks Bob, that's good to read.

Presumably the poor supply of vaccines in Australia constitutes emergency use!

Perhaps worth pointing out again, that the only reason that the covid 19 vaccines are not claimed to prevent you getting infected is simply because there is insufficient data to show whether the do so, and it is likely to be years before this data is accumulated. The same applies to all vaccines - the ones that have been around for a century or more we know how effective they are, and some are very effective - but none of them guarantee you will not get infected. There is nothing special about either the disease or the vaccines that makes them different to other vaccines that have been around for years as far as effectiveness goes.

A special situation exists because this is a new highly infectious* disease, that almost nobody has any existing immunity to it, which means that until a substantial proportion of the population is vaccinated (or survived infection), anybody infected is almost certain to pass it on. Recent data shows that vaccination may not prevent infection in all cases, but certainly prevents detectable infection in most cases (and if the infection is not detectable, it will not be passed on).

*Covid 19 has an R0 higher than any common serious disease except measles.
