I recall something along the lines of 29 died in the days before vaccination but none have since vaccination numbers got high. Iceland has a population of approx 360,000. Small numbers but significant statistically. A lot of what you ask is in the article. Hospital is under pressure from new infections. The links to the iceland stats page might give you something to look at.

I guess the vaccines are going to buy us time if we manage it right.

Er hasn’t covid caused the lock downs.

Not a snowflakes chance in hell of that happening unfortunately.

356 new cases in NSW and Aunty Glads loosing in the polls so she is looking at easing restrictions to boost her standing in the polls, Most definately politics NOT science leading the charge against COV19 in NSW.

I recently read a joke about that... involved a genie, a Tasmanian, a Queenslander and a New South Welshman. High walls and lots of water was involved.

    Don's walls won't work.

I should have put that better, I admit. If covid has locked the airports down, why are light aircraft flying to all parts of the country, [ if they are] and if so what precautions are being taken? It's not only FIFO , its those who rock up, say they are from somewhere no where near the red zones, and book a flight. Now I'm just surmising this, but there are no vaccination passports as yet, and I'm sure security , covid or otherwise, is not high priority at a little country airport. A bit pedantic, I know, but it looks like a sure fire back door to me.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

356 new cases, 3 deaths ,over100 out in the community while infectious. If the R value is 5-6, there's anothe 500 infected, potentially. At what point do you say, what on earth are you trying to prove? It's a tough job, for sure, but when do you step back and say, we need another way? When it gets to 1,000 a day?

Airports are not locked down…..have you notice not one airport has stopped operating during lockdowns…..

FIFO worker have kinda been speedster at brisbane airport for the last 18 months. There is at least 2 covid testing areas tucked away somewhere.

They won’t shut airports completely….they rely on people doing the right thing by driving the the red zone without stopping.

However, all the workers at airport return to the general community after every shift……

Haven't been to an airport for a couple of years. Why then all the cancelled flights?I'm talking internal flights, not returning travellers, I know covid has infected workers at the international terminal. If we are relying on people doing the right thing, then we are in a bit of trouble , I reckon. I'm thinking worst case in Sydney, if the cases ramp up and overwhelm the hospital system. Can't see them all staying put.
