Oil dropped another 10% today - but the $A also dropped, although not by as much.

But surrounding your house with gum trees in a bushfire prone area doesn't , Funny that

I store my fuel in another shed that is at least 500m away So I think that I am pretty safe

My father in law who wasn't doing many k's used to fill a 44 up with diesel when ever it was cheap problem was by the time he used it it would get a bug in it & it would cost him more to service the fuel system.

In the long term diesel doesn't store very well But petrol is still good after years of storage

    Unless it's Opal!
Opal turns to a jelly after about 6 months unless regularly agitated.

Servicing standby generators in old buildings, we have tested diesel that is 30 years old and it’s still fine. you just have to keep the water/condensation out of it.

Started a D7 that sat for 12 plus years...no probs with the diesel in it at all. Filters were replaced b 4 tho as they were stuffed.

It's petrol that don't keep well....my Ransomes crawlers require new fuel every couple years after sitting as the petrol goes "stale"..as they say.

Between my boats, gensets and the D2a V8 I burn quite a bit of petrol so a couple of thousand litres wont sit there long enough to go "stale".
I only get 1 x 44 of diesel at a time and the 2 x 90l tanks in the 79 series gives me plenty of "range".

Monday mid-arvo, unleaded has dipped to 99cents in places, 103 cents elsewhere
