If if if if, enough ifs.
It just shows you just how delicate a line we have to life. If he maybe hadn't stopped for a crap yesterday or the day before a hundred miles away the timing would be out so.......... you have to accept that is life or in this case unfortunate deaths. You cannot predict these things & say, "Hang on I'm going to have a prang so I'll leave 5 minutes later."

Then another set of circumstances & timings come into play & he could have killed a busload of kids whose bus caught fire & they all died a horrible death &/or he got home safely & nobody was injured & it was just a normal everyday drive for him. The cops wouldn't have been waiting for him either.

What if he didn't have a crim. record & was just like the next door? Would there be much angst against him?

That is the way I see it anyway.

But driving at 140k he was sticking his neck out & **** circumstances happened.

With all due respect, facts are NOT known. Investigations into events like this take many months.

Edit - reports this morning say the truck driver has a medical episode.
No correction needed, Gav, except I prefer not to hang ANY individual before the investigation is concluded, as opposed to the sensationalists.

I see reports the Porsche bloke is known to police and one report said he was on bail for another matter.
I feel for the truckie. Imagine realising you'd killed four people. What a terrible shock.

What a tragic set of circumstances that have led to the horrible deaths of four Police just doing their job. There is, and unfortunately always will be speculation. In my opinion it's an unfortunate part of humans trying to guess what has happened and come to an explanation for the end result, especially with tragedy. I don't think there is a need for anyone on this forum to start name calling at each other because of differing opinions or because of speculation. Unfortunately the end result will never change. Over the next period of time details of the Police investigation will come to light and more of the exact circumstances will become known. I definitely have an opinion of what has caused this tragedy, I won't be airing it here, but I hope I am wrong. I feel for the the families of the deceased Police, the witnesses that saw it and onlookers who tried to help, the emergency services that had to attend and serving Police members. The only opinion I will air is that there is absolutely no excuse for the Porsche driver to leave the scene, but even more reprehensible is the fact that he took photos of dead people, let alone Police and posted them on social media. What a piece of **** he is and I hope he gets punished fully by the legal system and the karma bus. So please speculate, have your opinions if that helps you, BUT PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL WHEN DOING SO!

A simple thanks in the forum system is insufficient for this.

    Thank you, Vinnie.

There have been stories circulating. My post earlier was made to hope we didn't go there, but you put it far better.
