The Deputy PM and the Director Gen of Health have indicated this is a critical week coming up as people see the numbers going down and a little complacency creeps in and stated if anyone has any symptoms at all, no matter how minor, get tested. One case getting away can seed a very quick increase in numbers. Six people from yesterdays numbers (20) were infectious out in the community but between them there was only six locations of interest they have been alerted to. Lock down is working.
'Shut the border' t-shirts are popular. There are WA and Qld versions. Might buy one.

NZ looks pretty much the same as NSW and Victoria have been living under for weeks
What we all need to do at Alert Level 4 to stay safe
We need your support to protect New Zealand and eliminate COVID-19.
Stay home in your bubble
Everyone must now stay home in their bubble.
You can only leave home for essential personal movement, like to:
shop for groceries
access necessary healthcare
get a COVID-19 test or vaccination
exercise in your local area
go to work if you are an Alert Level 4 worker and you cannot work from home.
Only make physical contact with those in your household bubble.
If you live alone, you may arrange with another person living alone or a household to be part of your household bubble. This arrangement must be exclusive between you and the other household.
Do not worry, at Alert Level 4 you can access all the essentials you need, including medicine and food.
I note that Victoria is looking at easing restrictions for vaccinated people when 70% single doses are reached.
The 5km travel radius will increase to 10km
• Exercise will increase from two to three hours a day
• Outdoor gym equipment and skate parks will reopen
• Outdoor personal training will be allowed with up to two people plus the trainer
• Childminding for school-age children will be allowed if both parents are critical workers
• Construction sites will increase to a 50 per cent capacity when 90 per cent of workers have received at least one vaccine dose
• Inspections of unoccupied premises will be permitted

truth coming out now about that boy that Murdoch media said the qld gov wouldn't let back in..
he was sent to nsw quietly against Qld stay at home orders
family then went to the media without talking to the qld government
Murdoch paid for the plane flight home and had reporters on the tarmac when it landed
the whole thing was a staged setup for the courier mail to attack the qld premier
no wonder lachlan scurried back to america asap prior to the senate enquiry

Good news today is Qld has zero community cases and the concern is falling.
Who said it was impossible to achieve zero Covid with Delta? I believe that's 18 outbreaks Qld has suppressed since June.
Bad news is we now learn the real hospitalisation rate in NSW is 11%, not the 5% Gladys previously stated.
Ambulances are stacked outside hospitals, waiting up to 8 hours to admit their Covid patients.
At least 3 children are in ICU, including a baby, and about 2000 children have Covid.
And Gladys herself says the peak won't even be reached until October.
Epidemiologist Tony Blakely says NSW will hit àbout 3000 cases and Victoria 2000 by the first week in November.
So, if Sydney in particular only peaks in early November, it's hard to see cases falling to a level which would cause any state to lower its borders to NSW by Christmas, unfortunately.
Maybe some border zones might be reinstated, but if I lived in Sydney, I'd cancel any plans to go interstate for Christmas.
