Penny dropped - these two are apparently exempt.

Given that I'm asthmatic and have no issues with a mask and there was a bloke with cystic fibrosis on TV a couple of months ago who said he had no issues wearing a mask it's extremely unlikely that there's any medical condition that these two young and healthy looking people could have that would mean wearing a mask would affect their health.

I am healthy (well I was 10 seconds ago) but find any of the available masks really crap to wear for any length of time. The warm air ,(was going to say Hot air but that would have been silly & open for some snarky jibe) recircs back & regardless of the fit, blows into your eyes which is bloody annoying & I can't wait till I get outside to rip the bloody thing off. I can understand why people won't wear them all day.

Good to see that someone in NSW had got the balls to scrub that ridiculous plan.

What in the hell were they thinking or not?

Really, all they need to know is what is on that GP confirmation.

I had massive problems getting the mobile medicare app to link with mygov so I rang them on the number specified on the web site to get a linking code.

Essentially the person on the other end is just trying to verify you and your wife's id's. They are VERY helpful.

You'll need to have both medi cards handy and driver's licenses. Maybe both IHI identifier numbers, which are on your vax certificates. Have them ready too.

I had birth cert number ready but didn't need it. You'll need a pen handy for the linking code as well.

3 minutes was all it took.

Spent hours trying to do it the other way............... just more ****ing crap from some ****wit with a uni degree.

    cheers, DL
    This ^

It took me 45 minutes on the phone when NSW brought in the mandatory certificate for entry to get it linked, but the bloke on the other end of the phone was super helpful.

It's been that way since it was brought in Des, the first day of the double vax rule people were flashing their bits of paper and it was ok. (If those checking knew the rules)

You didn't get to talk to Andrea.

I thanked her profusely for making it soooo easy and she said something like ' everyone says that'.

    Nice.

The problem here was that someone hasn't been to the doc for about 7 years (other than one mandatory medical for work) and so they didn't have me in the system to verify, etc, etc. even though my Medicare card is current.

The Feds had to confirm with NSW who I was

    Man of mystery

But what counts at the end of the day is, We know who you are & there is only one of youse.

Maybe not a 007, but a CLINT is still noteworthy.

Our last day of 2021 vax has now been brought forward to 2:45 today. Guinea Pigs spring to mind.

    EDIT.
All done signed, sealed & delivered & Jelly Bean eaten. No after effects unless you count being a grumpy bastard at other driver's incompetence on the way home. Got Pfizer this time for a booster, Jab 1&2 were AV.

Maybe we will all be back at this time next year for a booster for the booster, for the booster, ad infinitum.
In the meantime here's to a long life for all Auroians & long protection from this bloody thing & your shares in Pfizer remain prosperous.

PS. No dramas with presenting the GP's original Certificate either , they just added the Booster details to the relevant box on the form. Easy as.

In Victoria we seem to ticking along at about the same level as when restrictions fully eased. Sydney was similar but had got to a lower base before fully opening. It appears that even 90%+ is only enough to hold the rate of reproduction at 1.0. Perhaps we opened up too early, but people in general don’t want lockdowns anymore. (And those that do can always stay in self-isolation).

It would be good to see the rate of reproduction numbers split out between vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Presumably it is growing much faster amongst the unvaxxed who seem to like to gather together in defiance. But we are seeing an increase in the % of people in ICU who are fully vaccinated, and with ICU case numbers on the rise again it is only a matter of time before Dan feels the need to exercise his new found powers.

Officially we have around 600 ICU beds, and it is claimed we can handle up to 4000 ICU cases but no one wants to see this happen. Interesting and challenging times ahead.
