Meanwhile nearly 6000 new cases in NSW after they threw the lid away
Which is both expected and what will happen here as soon as the border comes down. I'm not even sure why it's news to be honest.

Sounds like softening the punters up for a widespread covid event to me

Hang on, IF WA has closed its borders, how did a french backpacker get in?

From Queensland. He arrived the day before Qld was reclassified as unclean.

Consider the situation in the US atm. The rise in daily new cases is still exponential as they exceed 200 thou per day.

Way worse than any other wave. At least it looks like the mortality rate has come down from one in sixty to around one in a hundred or so.

United States COVID - Coronavirus Statistics - Worldometer

Keep in mind Worldos gets real data daily, which some states are 'slow' to supply and generally gets past days cases / deaths updated in an upward direction in the days that follow.

    take care, DL

    Bugger. Commiserations.

Just shut the doors. On the phone with the gov vax supplier cvas re possible delay to 14/1 from 7 jan the kicker with this is they ordered the 200 only kids vax. I booked the kids for what they said they would supply!

Happily or sadly just advise the news is OTHER People are now stuffed not me

600 boosters and 200 under 12 in bound, perhaps as scheduled in time?

Two more hours of gov required paper work and this black duck is done. I wonder if the goose at the top who thoughtlessly got all the nice people to call us re the 4 month booster had a nice day after his smug thoughtless LOOK at Moi announcements?

James I doubt that inconsiderate person would give a flying ****.

The "let it rip" attitude by some of the States is proving to be a complete cockup so far, Thank the Gods that WA hasn't followed the other sheep to slaughter by opening up its borders to one and all.

In my opinion the "Let 'er rip" "Crash & burn" decisions are made because they know not what else to do, except throw hands into the air.

But they do have to come back to "work" when the Hols are over & face up to it, although I suspect not much will have changed in the interim.

This is not based on any medical opinion by me, nor probably them also.

They're probably having Chrissy drinks right now, clinking glasses and saying 'job well done'.

Seems that abject failure is the new norm.

Locked out/locked in - depends on your point of view. Do prisoners say that others are locked out? Covid Mk ll
