Why such a definitive no to Novavax?
I know several who are waiting for it to be available due to not wanting the other options, one of them from advise from their health professional due to pre existing issues

A few hated AZ and waited. then they hated Pfizer and waited. Then they hated Moderna and waited.......... Those FEW who still waiting have had options plus which they avoided and we are not going to inconvenience ourself or patients. Once we have done with bosters and kids 2nd we might if if if consider 0-5s but not a chance I am adding a 3rd fridge for people who will have options to get which ever vaccine they are waiting for one day some day over a rainbow? PS the interesting people suggesting they wait should be encouraged to provide Nova VAX. never ever been our advice. First in was

It seems to me Australians were given far to much choice. Me? Whatever became safely available. AZ twice & #3 was Fizzer.
No dramas with any of them.

very few weeks of lockdowns and a booming economy

YES WA has done a crap job so far

As far as protecting the most vunerable I take it that you don't consider the aged to be in that category because they have borne the brunt of the death toll so far
Yep, they are some scary numbers. You want to know the scariest bit? WA will be in the same place that Victoria and the eastern seaboard are in very shortly. WA is still playing the keep it out card whereas Victoria has moved on to the living with it stage. WA will have to move into the same stage Victoria is in eventually because guess what? It's here to stay. You want your economy to keep going strongly? WA will have to change the way its doing business to do that. Lets revisit in 6 or 12 months and see if you're still doing the whistle emoji

And yes, I care a great deal about the elderly and I'm really sad that there have been so many deaths. I have many old friends and relatives that I'm trying to protect by keeping myself and my family vaccinated. I'm sure you know that most of the issues with the elderly though are all in Scott Morrison funded aged care centres. The State run stuff has been fantastic (aside from the hotel quarantine palaver). But we have been let down considerably by the federal government at every turn in this pandemic. Particularly in aged care. Actually we've been let down with lots of stuff by the feds but I don't want to go breaking AULRO rules there....

You MAY get your wish But as WA now have a Much higher vaccination rate (94% of 12 and over double vacced and 46% booster shots) than VIC or NSW had when they first decided to let it rip at 80% of the 16 and over were vaccinated therefore when WA does eventually open up we will be in a Far better position to deal with this virus.

Lets see how this pans out in WA before you start crowing too much ay

    Covid Mk ll

Was chatting to a FIFO yesterday.

I didn’t realize the number of west Australians that FIFO to other states that have been affected, hundreds of them.

At least the footy players are allowed in without quarantining
