My granddaughters car broke down at the railway station . She phoned RACV the service man came and did what he could , said your fuel pump isn't working . So my wife orders her a new fuel pump $ 100 + , By the way It's a Holden Berina . So new pump turns up . Her fella goes to fit It , need a tool to get fuel lines off , $ 20 . Puts the new pump in , and snaps the outlet off the new pump changing pumps over , still not working . So off he goes to buy another pump , $ 100+ still not working . I have a word with my son and tell him the story . He asks did you check for power to the pump , err,,, No well It may not be the pump , I said the RACV man said It was . He says all he said was It's not working , not that It had packed up . Ok now I'm feeling like a Donkey . So start again , Fuse , Relay , power in , power across , put relay back in pump now working . This has been an expensive exercise , Only got myself to blame , I can laugh about It now !!.. Jim

I bought my wife a Pebble smart watch for her birthday.

It's gone faulty, it's still in warranty but I can't find the receipt for the purchase.

Last week I bought a new pair of armoured jeans for motorbike riding. Elisabeth washed them today and asked, "Didn't they come with knee protectors?"

Hmm, yes, they should have so back to the shop today......

Last year I bought a food processor. It has a 3 year warranty. It went "phut" and let all the smoke out yesterday when I was preparing lunch. I can't find the receipt.

I usually scan all receipts for warranty purposes and save them on my PC. Guess whose PC SSD hybrid drive failed - the one with the data on it. At least Seagate replaced it under warranty. The replacement was faulty. I'm currently trying to restore from an old backup. I did have a recent image file on another HDD. That HDD has failed, too. Gaahhhhhh!!!

You need to make this a reality TV show Ron.
Seriously, if people watch the crap on TV about which Kardashian got new fake boobs while in gaol or whatever, they'd surely watch your show and make you a mint

Ron, I think you should stop opening all the boxes you get with a hammer - the products should last longer that way.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

There is a certain jewellery company that specialises in beads to put on bracelets, let's call them pavlova's box.
I bought my wife one of their watches, about 4 years ago as the design let you change both the face, I got 3 different ones, and the bands, well the band wore out so I went to buy a new one as they are a unique design and not like any other where they are pinned under the changeable face. Guess what they don't make them any more!
Not only that panlova have very limited spares only for warranty work. Now this wasn't a cheap watch so after much argument and several emails, having to go and get receipt from store, who were very helpful and apologetic, I managed to buy 2 new watch straps, which should.last another 6-8 years.
They, pavdora, would not allow me to buy the 2 until I threatened dept of fair trading and where arrogant in the extreme. Obviously they have had a dispute with the watch maker and did not get sufficient spares for the numbers sold.

    I didn't.

The soles on these only have a 3 year life!!! I got caught out the same when using them to get some parts from the wreckers. Fell apart walking up to yard. Covered shoes - check. Soles now only the cardboard insoles - check.

If they are genuine Rivers shoes they will replace them.

The Rivers logo on the sole doesn't look to me like the genuine Rivers logo.

I have lots of Rivers shoes and clothes.

They are genuine Rivers. I bought them at a Rivers store. We took them back but they can't do anything. Too old, no longer made. If we'd had the receipt (as if!), they'd have refunded the money. The shoes had hardly been worn.

I've spent many hundreds, probably more with them, on previous 'Wings and although the gear was never cheap, it was quality "Made in USA", kit.
Since acquiring the latest bike all the purchases have been cheap, crappy Chinese 'quality'. Chrome plated, stainless steel is rusting within three months; It's never seen rain.
Today I finally received an order that was dispatched 22/09/15 per Priority Mail International, a luggage rack and small antenna mount. The racks were advertised, seconds US$49, A grade US$89. I opted for the $89 jobbie but was delivered the second with the exact same twist declared for the second.
The antenna mount is actually a chrome plastic cover for the mount but that is probably my blue due to differing terminology.
My disappointment has not diminished for having a whinge.
Three requests, the first on 07/10/15, on their support website have been ignored.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
