Then, in the latter half of January 09, after a bit of travelling around Australia...and some driving of my neglected Series 2A....I will be off on the new job. This will be working for a UK based company that has work in Africa.

I must thank people for their kind sentiments; thank you all very much, it is very touching.
Finally....Ghana.
Arrived 27 May flew into Accra. Overnighted here and drove 4hrs to the west along the Cape Coast to Takoradi. My company has their Ghanaian Office here with all their worksites in the goldfields to the north.
Accra is enormous, bursting with people and traffic.
I'd thought I'd seen badly polluted rivers in Afghanistan....Ghana certainly has a stronger economy but...can't keep their creeks clean.
All the technology...this is a TV Repair Shop:
Driving through town...something to see wherever you look.
Taxis, taxis...taxis everywhere. Not quite Yellow Cabs...just as distinctive though:
This gentlemen insisted on a photo:
Ghana, being an ex British colony, most people speak English. There are quite a number of other languages. They seem to do pretty well and you can pick up some interesting uses of English. I ahve to stop next time we see one and take a photo of the .......'No Overspeeding' road signs. Nothing like overspeeding...compared to just speeding.
Here are some of the other things that have given me a giggle. This is a pepper spread....don't know how it would market out of Ghana:
Yet to meet Angela....
This is on the menu in the hotel I am currently staying in:
Sprinkle a bit of this on and you'll be 'Indomptable'...?
This is a photo taken over some of the urban residential in Takoradi, the city I am staying in at the moment. Seeing decay like this might give some people the perception of being risky. The people here are very happy and friendly...I think its safer than most cities in Australia:
Last Sunday we drove further along the coast and down to beautiful bay, passing through villages where people were living in very simple standards. Kids everywhere, all looking pretty healthy.
and down at the end of the road...beautiful Miemia Bay
I have until next Tuesday here in Takoradi and then I am heading up-country past Kumase...have camera, will photograph.
