Yeah i can see this being a good oil thread, its a question thats asked fairly often.
Yeah i run a set of 245/75/r16 of my disco on the standard steel rims had them for a few months now. Found them to be a great set of Mud tyres at a good price ($240 each). They do have some road noise above 80km/h on smooth roads. However that said awesome grip offroad.

We got'em on the Rangie, 31x15.10.5 and so far have been excellent. Paid $225ea. Also quite good on the black stuff but start to get a bit noisy over 80 - but then everything does.

Still not convinced that you would be able to hear them over my gearbox nothing wines more than a soulihul build 'box

When I can find some well priced steel 15" rims to suit my Series IIA I will be getting a set of Bighorns. My mate runs them on his old Datto and I rekon they are tops

I have owned Bighorns for 6 months. I have only covered 5,000Km yet i live in the bush on a property so every trip i do starts and finishes with 3Km of Dirt tracks.

These tyres hold onto loose surfaces very well and handle both wet/dry sealed roads with plenty of warning. These tyres cos me $220 a corner in 245/75R16 and have always got me out of trouble in clay mud and rock. They are great self cleaners and as for road noise i find them better then my BFG's but if you are complaining about road noise time to get a new car!

All of the above has been compared to BFG's which i have on my other 4x4 and when the BFG's wear out i will be replacing them with the Bighorns! not the other way around.

no worries however when ever you need info or wish to add to a thread all ready commenting on it feel free to bring up the old thread rather than start a new one.....so we dont have pages and pages of exactly the same thing.. just like we have here.

those links I gave you were from 4 pages of 9.....so there are plenty of threads already.

Nice disco, they always look good with black rims, hence why I painted mine.
