The biggest F up by Land Rover with Disco would have to be removing the spare wheel.
I told the tyre guys I'll remove it so I get a go on how it operates, I wanted to pour a can of petrol over it and light it, and I had no cargo in the back just a rubber protection mat. What a Bullshyte task❗️![]()
I remember seeing somewhere on here that part from UK that fits in between the seats so you don't have to lift the 3rd row seats.
Also does anyone have it fitted and can you still lift the 3rd row seats with it installed ❓
Maybe I should get the name of it and do a search for the thread ❓

Reality check!!!
I've dropped the spare once...
If I hadn't had the wheel carrier it would be twice...
Unless you're bolting draws in which will make it very difficult then a simple CBA suggests it's hardly an imposition and certainly not worth the cost..
is this the one you mean wind-o-matic?
Like most other things there's simple ways to improve things.
You don't need one of those expensive gadgets to access the spare winder with the 3rd row down using a ratchet handle and extension.
Have a read of this thread:

My effort. I use this with rear drawers in and/or 3rd row down
I take it you haven't tried the jack yet Babs. Mine came with a Kaymar wheel carrier so I haven't had the pleasure of dealing with the wheel carrier. I have a 100L tank in it's place. The standard jack is the biggest POS I have ever used especially with a 3 tonne car. I now have my highlift permanent mounted on the Kaymar carrier and I use it off the Kaymar or the ARB Bullbar. I always carry a vehicle stand to put under once jacked. I have never had a flat, just had reason to take the wheels off a lot for maintenance issues, brakes, handbrake and bushes.

I don't think the main issue is access to the winder, that is just a matter or installing an extension or raising a seat (I have a mat and cargo barrier too so I know your pain). IMO the main issue is the flimsiness of the winch mechanism which is VERY prone to jamming if wound with no tension on the cable. I have accessed the spare tyre twice in the 2 years I have owned my D4 and even then last time I had great difficultly with the winch jamming. I only just got it free. When I get time I will investigate an option like this...

I would like to find a mechanical option that avoids coming through the floor altogether. I haven't had a good look underneath to check feasibility yet.
Cheers,
Chris
