Terry, I believe all newer models have the carbon one as standard.
My research indicated the carbon version was part# JKR500020 (and ordinary #JKR500010)
JKR500020 supercedes to LR023977, which is the standard part# now I believe.

I'm not sure about the carbon poly filter but it happened again today. Lane Cove Tunnel was down to 40klm/ph so there I was plotting along and I started smelling strong exhaust fumes, I look down again and check the recirculate button and its Blooming off.

At least when you sneak one out and is noticed on the passenger side, you can blame it on the roadkill just passed

In my 2014 HSE, if you keep the recirculation button pressed for several seconds it will lock (a message goes on central info screen where map usually is). Edit: I now see others have mentioned this point.

Yes it says recirculate latched on. Meaning it doesn't time out for the duration of your trip.

When you turn the vehicle off it cancels the recirculate so after you restart vehicle it is off again.

Another gripe I have with my new D4 is the space between the side firewall and the brake

If I have my steel caps on I hit the brake as I accelerate, there is not enough space there unless your wearing grandpa slippers.

But I love the power and just returned 9.1L per/100klm on a drive up to Brissy today.

CON = Cruise Control. This cruise is crap, it jumps up 20klm above set speed on a slight decline. Every vehicle I have ever owned has held set speed within 7klm on declines and anything too steep just brakes away.

The D4 won't hold at all. I have come to the conclusion Discovery 4 Cruise is Poo.

Can this be altered at all with the IIDTOOL ❓

Have you looked at the instantaneous fuel consumption? Early D4s originally didn't cut fuel on overrun but s/w updates fixed that. If your consumption is zero then it can only be due to the high gearing now used with the 8-speed.
